Back in the saddle

Postby piersmajestyk » Mon Mar 07, 2005 12:10 pm

Well as bad as yesterday was today has been the other extreme thus far. Although I had a very good feel for the 400 NL game last night I decided to drop back down to 200 NL and play 5 tables to see how I handled that much action. It was no problem at all and I can tell my game is progressing very fast as I was able to get away from hands before they cost me a bundle on several occasions. Something that just last week I would not have done in some of these hands.

Empire 200 NL, 1237 hands, 1101.60, 4h25m
Rake return: 75.53
Total: 1177.13
Time: 4h25m

So most of yesterdays asswhippings have been cleared away by my early morning session and that feels damn good my friends

I sympathize with your immigration headache. I went through similar challenges during the troubles in El Salvador to get my families immigration status all squared away. This included a couple trips down there during some of the worst violence just to go through the paperwork to get my wife and son safely back to the U.S. I had some idiot at the immigration office here in the U.S. telling me I had to go through the U.S. embassy in San Salvador (Which was closed down and evacuated at the time) to complete all the necessary paperwork and re enter the U.S. with my family.

Took 7 months.

Good Luck

March 8: Late short session

Postby piersmajestyk » Tue Mar 08, 2005 8:30 pm

Well wasn't going to play anymore today because I need to pack still for the trip and perhaps just chill and watch a movie but while perusing my buddy list I saw TW in three 510 limit games so I knew my EV was going to be off the charts so I quickly jumped in the games and picked up another 50 or so without much trouble although I did stupidly dump 20 on a fish for no good reason.

Hah hah, thank god you were only there for 81 hands. The things you would've seen had you been there longer would've forever been burned black in the mind of any thinking poker player. Okay, I suppose that was a bit overly-dramatic.

Any of you guys ever notice that I have severe difficulties with compound words, and am frequently forced to compensate by misusing our friend, the hyphen? Bothers me.

What you need are some good synonyms. "Melodramatic" would have been a good play there. Or maybe  one of the colorful emoticons.

Well finally back from an extended break that was about 6 days too long for my taste but due to mechaniic laziness and ineptitude everything was not ready until this evening about 4 pm but managed to get everything packed up and headed back to Caracas. Arrived back about 2 am with no car problems along the way so I guess that's a plus. Hope to get some good hours in later today.

March 25, 2005

Postby piersmajestyk » Fri Mar 25, 2005 8:39 pm

Well today has been a very nice day. The woman and me had decided to take a trip into the country to do a little plant collecting and just to get out of the city for the day. Got started later than I wanted but the drive was nice and relaxing. I certainly am glad I am at a point now were I don't have to worry about being somewhere in a hurry. Cars just zooming by left and right all day long probably going nowhere. It's really nice just to relax and enjoy the view as you go. Well made some nice collections, probably many that are new to Estado Miranda as it hasn't been collected in by very many people and even fewer bryologist if any.

Returned about 7 and put in a couple hours at the 100 NL tables and played just about perfect. The only marginally big hand I lost I riased preflop with AJs and bet the low flop board (2 hearts) and got called by a late position player so unless a J or A hits I am pretty much done but the old A hearts shows up on the turn and I decide to check and the guy bets about 2/3 pot and I checkraise him the total pot and he calls which I didn't like at all. The Q of hearts hits the river and I check and he checks and show me QQQ, so I had him right where I wanted him on the turn and he hit the old 2 outer. His call really sucked on the turn but what are you going to do? One big hand I won I had 56 in the BB and the flop came 234 (2 spades) with 5 people in the pot. I lead out for 3 and a guy raised me to 8, all fold to me and I raise to 20 and he goes all in for his 100 which I call, he had A8 spades and missed his flush draw which missing a flush draw against me lately has to be like a 100 to 1 shot so he got really unlucky
Finished up about 134.00 or so which is nice. Hopefully starting back on a winning streak.
