I think it would be beneficial to all if those of us who play Live poker would list some of the most prevalent tells they have noticed in their time at the tables. Now I'm assuming we have all read Caro's book on the subject (If you haven't you shoud, or watch the videos) So there is no need for the "shaking hand" tell, etc.---Also if any of you have found tells that you have and have corrected it will be helpful because I am sure we all have tells that we don't know about. I'll start.

I play live $1/2NL so I'm sure there are more tells at my level than at the higher ones

Maybe not so much a tell, but I have noticed that when many players make a big bet at you on the river and you stare them down for a minute or so he will USUALLY start squirming if he is uncomfortable, aka:bluffing--of course you have to know the player is capable of the big bluff and not acting, but I find that when someone has a genuinely big hand, they almost project calmness

Some players new to live casino poker may feel uncomfortable staring down an opponent (I know I did), but the fact of the matter is, the player you are grilling is way more uncomfortable than you, especially if he is on a bluff. This may make him fidget

A tell that I used to have is that I would say the amount I was betting when I was weak and just bet when I was strong without saying anything. Needless to say I significantly increased my wins when I figured this out.

Anyone else?

I watch how long they look at the flop -- longer usually means they missed or they have some sort of draw. Also if they're focused on one card, or glancing back and forth between all three. After they look at the flop, do they look directly at their chips, or do they look elsewhere (they have something to think about). If they're not first to act, how quickly do they look at the first person to act (quickly means they have something).

When they call, how quickly do they call (fast is usually a draw). Do they look at you afterwards (weak, want you to stop betting).

When they bet, do they give a little grimace or purse their lips slightly (strong trying to look weak).

Anyway, those are the sorts of things I watch. Mostly I just try to gauge their confidence and level of interest in the hand.

I need to stick to online. I would get crucified live. Damn. Can't even imagine trying to play the cards and watch the players and make sure I'm not giving stuff away myself.

Luckily, there don't seem to be any casinos in Wisconsin dealing no-limit so the temptation is not there.

One of the things I watch is there hand movements - what the do with their cards/chips and when they do it. Its different from player to player -but its something a lot of players aren't congizant of what they are doing
