There are way too many things here to address so let me just say that,


1) Limping, then calling a minimum raise and folding the flop when you miss is NOT causing you to lose 20 buy ins.

2) 30% isnt tight even in 6 max

I am with Ice on this one. 30% is not tight even short handed.

B8factor, If you would cut out the MP - limp hands that you end up calling after a re-raise because of pot odds you would get down to 25%. Those limp hands are the ones that get most players in trouble.

Kenny, the swings at $1000NL and higher are much bigger than $200NL. Besides, hes not talking about a 1.5 buy ins swing. hes talking about losing 5 buy ins one day, then winning 3, then losing 7, then winning 5. That shouldnt be happening.

If you are playing solid poker -TAG- the losses are not going to be significant. I know that. I've been playing for more than 16 month now and the only losing month I had after I started winning back in april 2005, was april 2006, and it was because I only played for three days prolly 2K hands.

What I ams aying is that variance do her work. Sometimes it makes you WOOOOOOOOOOOOT and sometimes it screw you up. What can I do if I am set over setted four times in one session? What can you do if you go in a rush of 2-3K hands with no sets? You can be winning on that period but I am sure it is not going to be much.

June has started awful for me. I am still losing but I am workng my way out. Today I have played a lot of hands, around 2K and I have only hit 4 sets, 2 of them got no action. Sometimes you run worse than cold. Sometimes all the Big pots you got into the chips slide the other way.

BK, since you are playing an Ultra Low variance game and every of your session should be near 1500 hands, most of them should end on the + side. But would you be wiining if you play your 1500 hands with no sets? What about only one over that period just to be on the ass end of a set over set situation? It would be IMPOSSIBLE for you tyto book a win in that kind of session. It could happen 3 or four times in a week and them you'll have a decent losing week.

There's much more than just playing TAG, to make you a winning player... TAG is just the starting point for a solid strategy that's it.

Playing 19% VPIP and Betting not calling won't guarantee anyone to be a winning player..

(I'm not saying there's not bad runs, or w/e, which I'm not discussing) But there are huge leaks that need to be corrected, and issues like knowing when to fold, when to push and how much to bet, that are tricky and can turn your winning strategy in to a loosing one.
