I don't know if this serves to anyones benefit or not but I suspect it may be of some interest to someone out there and so I'm going to post my results for a month or so. Normally I wouldn't do this but as TheUnknownPlayer - what the heck... I'm not one to work only 2 hours and I wouldn't want anyone to get the idea I was doing a hit and run - but I started getting a headache (11-30) and so I cashed out and left early. If I can't bring my A game I don't play.

The $200 buy in game is $200 max? or $200 min?

When I was in Vegas the only NL cash game I could find was at the Horseshoe. Are these games new?

I dont know if you play online, but do these games play more like online games because they have a max buy in? I sat down at the Horseshoe in the $2/$5 blind $200 min buy in game with $300, but alot of guys had $1000-$10000 so there wer alot of raises to $20-$30 that would get 3-5 callers.

With my relatively small stack I had no room to play anything but the flop. I would raise to $25 with KK and get 3 callers. I would have to go a;; in on jus about any flop and hope to double up. Theres too much luck and not enough skill playing that way. I do much better in a capped buy in game like they have online. I would probably do all right in a non capped buy in game if I wanted to play a monster stack, but those stakes are too high for me to play comfortably.

Ive been averaging about $90/hr playing the $2/$4NL games online so I dont see any reason too play higher.

The $200 buy-in game is a strict $200 - no more no less. As for the NL games here - they are all over the place. As for their newness, kind of depends on when you were here... they've been around since pokers explosion about 18 months - 2 years ago.

As for online, I don't play. I find I give up too much personally in not being able to see my opponents, maybe it's the case of not being able to teach an old dog new tricks but I play people more than cards and online the people seem to change too often and I can't see them - just seems to me like too big a loss of edge.

As for the big stacks and how to play against them when you have a small stack - it does change your strategy but there is winning strategies when you find yourself in that spot though I prefer to be the big stack myself

I know what you mean about not needing to play any higher... last year my year was pretty much equally divided between the two games I most regularly played, $40/$80 limit holdem and $10/$20 blind no-limit; while I beat both games comfortably ($137/hr and $93/hr respectively) I am actually making more per hour in the low limit no limit games and despite making less than I did in the $40/$80 I find that I am able to play more hours of the low limit no limit than I was the $40/$80 (before fatigue) and so my monthly average stays about the same with minimal risk and significantly less fluctuations - both of which I'm fond of.

I too live in Vegas and occasionally play the 2/5 NL game @ the Bellagio. I have a short sample of several thousand hands so not statistically significant, but I seem to make more $$ playing 3 tables on-line 1/2NL.

Looks like I have a pretty weak work ethic doesn't it...? Days off here - days off there...3 weeks off before Thanksgiving...

I gave the first of a series of poker seminars in Vegas from Nov. 13 - 19th and between that and the preparation of the materials I was working almost around the clock for 10 days or so - so there's the three weeks. Currently I'm working on another poker project as well - a huge poker project which I'm very excited about. How big is it? Well ... just mentioning the idea to a company in the poker world got an offer of 6-figures to bankroll it - sight unseen. That kind of big. Sort of mixed up in that project is the material for a book which is being written concurrently - though no predictions on when that will be done...could be 2 years - I won't compromise on the book - that's my labor of love. I mention the book though simply because I'm at home working my butt off (instead of playing) on what shall be the most comprehensive statistical analysis work that's ever been done in poker. And lastly, my honey is coming in tomorrow morning (LDR) and we have some serious catching up to do - so if you have a question - ask it before she gets here cause I won't see the light of day for 48 hours

I'm not someone you are likely to know actually - as a live game player we don't get press (although that may change - ESPN approached me earlier this year about featuring me in a live game poker pro documentary - so there's interest) At the time, I turned it down because I couldn't see the equity in flying above the radar but ... things change.
