True true. I'm learning that real quick. I guess the goal is Upswing$ > Downswing$ in the long run. Things have been going well the last few days and I just got done playing a nice session. I'm just going to ride the wins for as long as they come, and take a deep breath the next time things don't go my way.

Congrats on your live streak BTW - what casino do you play at? I'm heading to Santa Barbara in a week for vacation - I think the Commerce is nearby is it not?

Finished up $47.37 today. Aces got their revenge early and often for their recent lack of success - a couple of other big pairs helped pad the stats for the day. Turns out I needed it, had to sit through a couple of horrible beats tonight - but basically broke even during my second session. Played all in all pretty well today/tonight - didn't really overplay anything, but I think I lost value on a few hands by passing on betting on the end, which I need to work on.

Tables played: 3 full ring
Hands played: 1,031
Time played: 774 table minutes

Poker winnings: $34.50
Bonus cleared: $12.87
Total profit (loss) for day: $47.37

Bankroll as of 5/29/06: $793.31

Countdown to $50 NL: $206.69

Finished up $18.30 today. Meh. Started off getting coolered for the first 20 minutes, lost about a stack with a few second best hands. Won it all back and then some with a key full house, trips paid me off nicely. Other than that just a bit of hit and run, small pot poker to finish up an average, but not bad, amount for just over an hour of play. Got the roll over $800. If I am the Boston Red Sox, $800 seems to be the curse of the Bambino though...haven't had much luck keeping it over that amount for any stretch of time...wish me well this time guys. Really, $1,000 isn't out of sight.

Tables played: 3 full ring
Hands played: 344
Time played: 258 table minutes

Poker winnings: $13.60
Bonus cleared: $4.70 (grabbed the 25% reload to pad it a bit more)
Total profit (loss) for day: $18.30

Bankroll as of 5/30/06: $811.61

Countdown to $50 NL: $188.39

THURSDAY, JUNE 1, 2006

Finished up $15.23 tonight. Session started off nicely, but lost a tidy sum during the final few oribits for a rather meager show tonight. Played pretty well IMO save a couple of iffy hands, which I posted as I'm not sure on them. I love donkeys. Life's so much easier taking stacks from them than wrestling with good players trying to play chronic smallball hand after hand.

Tonight may have been my last session for the next week or so - taking a much needed vacation. I may play tomorrow night if I get home early enough. If not, I'll be posting my weekly wrap up and that will be it for a little while.

Tables played: 3 full ring

Bonus cleared: $6.88

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 14, 2006

Finished down $6.60 tonight. Well, after a two week hiatus from online poker and a one week hiatus from cold & rainy New England (was visiting my cousin in Santa Barabara, California), back to the grind. As I kind of figured, tonight was the "shake the rust off" session. Misplayed a couple of AQ hands early which accounted for all of the above-noted loss plus some, so I can't really complain tonight. Got my act together for the rest of the session and once again feel comfortable behind the computer.

Drove six hours through the Mojave to play some live poker over the weekend in Las Vegas - played 1/2 $200 max at the MGM Grand and the Monte Carlo. From my short experience playing in casinos (read: these two sessions), I'll say that most of the people I played aganist play way too many hands and call way too often, as is the case online. I will say that TAG worked less well, I got far less action than my opponents did, and that REALLY hurt. Lost $200 at the MGM and won $130 back at the Monte Carlo. Not too terribly bad for my first live experience outside home games. I think I'm going to stick to online play, I can make far more playing more hands right here at home than traveling to Foxwoods to play in a game I'm surely way underbankrolled to play.

I'm going to combine my "half week" before I left and the rest of this week this coming Sunday and catch-up my weekly recap at that point.

I see things are pretty status quo around here.

THURSDAY, JUNE 15, 2006

Finished up $5.20 tonight. Meh. Lost $20 when KK ran into AA pre-flop. Flopped quads twice, got modestly paid both times, hit a few sets and didn't get paid that greatly. Lost one set to a straight. Other than the above, nothing exciting to report. Can't really complain - just got unlucky tonight.

SATURDAY, JUNE 17, 2006

Finished up $47.37 tonight. Afternoon session was a relative cooler - lost a tidy sum to slowplayed AA with JJ on a low rag board. Meh :?: . Turned the show around tonight - got some hands, played just loose enough to get action on said hands, bet, raised, pushed, etc. - ship pots nhs, etc. Put several Saturday night donkeys on tilt. Made a couple of good laydowns - was able to dump AA cheap when in trouble and actually got away from top two vs. TAG - too bad (for this guy) a trailer couldn't let go of TPTK - said TAG flipped over boat.

Today was the first real successful day 4-tabling. That's been my goal all along - I dropped back to 3 during my slump, so I'm glad to be able to make 33% more decisions on a sessionly (eh?) basis now.

Tables played: 4 full ring
Hands played: 1,118
Time played: 869 table minutes

Poker winnings: $34.65
Bonus cleared: $12.72
Total profit (loss) for day: $47.37

Bankroll as of 6/17/06: $873.11 (a new high!)

2 WEEKS ENDING JUNE 18, 2006

Well didn't play that much over the last two weeks due to vacation and just not really feeling like playing over the last few days. Wanted to get in a short session tonight, but the UB software wasn't cooperating, so I decided to pass rather than fuss with it for 1-2 hours or whatever my typical session is.

Well things have been pretty status quo over the last couple of weeks, which is a good thing. BR is climbing upward slowly but surely and as of tonight it's at an all-time high. Hopefully I'll drum up the drive to put in the hours over the next week or two and punch my ticket to $50 NL.

If I was venturing into completley uncharted waters (read: never playing at $50 NL before), I'd be hesistant to make my move, as I'm more or less breakeven over the last 18K hands. But, I know that 10-12K of those hands comprised a long downswing and any mistakes that I did make were readily identified and have since been remided. 18K isn't really close to enough for a winrate anyways - I know I'm a winner at these levels, so as long as my BR is adequate, I have no reservations about making the move up.

3&4 tables
6 days play

Net finish for week: $127.17
Bankroll as of 6/18/06: $873.11

Emoticon of the Week: :)
