Im approaching the bankroll required for $100 FR, what are the major differences? I know I dont have to move up just because I have the bankroll, but I may consider it. This is on stars.

Dunno about stars but at PR the play was pretty much the same, maybe people are slightly less willing to commit their whole stack.

The best thing is your not playing for micro pigeon stakes anymore and can actually make a wee bit of $$$

Just take 4 buy-ins there, if you lose them (unlikely) then drop back to 50s and repeat... this way youll never bust (if you know you can beat 50nl to re-build br).

It is basically the exact same thing as 50$. I took a shot a week or two ago, my BR is about 35x buyin for 100$NL and I couldn't mentally handle the 500$ swing I took. So, I just dropped back down to the 50's. My loss was just variance though, I was welcomed into 100$NL by a 2 outer for a full stack with a set of 66 vs KK. Not folding overpairs, ya sounds just like 25$ and 50$ to me! One thing I did notice is there are some real good players who make a living there I swear this one guy was on like 18hrs a day. In my mind 100$NL is the first step to making some "real" money that could allow you to become self-sufficent based on poker alone. However, there are plenty of players who buyin for 40$ and hop right on up to .5/1 so it's the same basic mix as the 50's with a few more solid players, IMO.

Oh, and is it just me or are the stars tables REAL LOOSE. I left for party a couple months ago, and just came back to stars. By using the nifty sorting feature stars has II routinely get almost all of my 8 tables -with 30 vp$ip +++. Anyways, don't want to hijack just an observation.

From what I hear...you need to spend about 20k more hands at 50NL and produce at least 5ptbb/100 for that sample...then move up without question and don't expect any changes.

Strangely, lately I've found NL100s to be looser than NL50s. It could be just my small sample...but I actually believe that a lot of bonus whores hang out at NL50 and play tight. Don't get me wrong, you can still beat either game. Just an observation.

Sinkrox brings up a great point about people being less willing to stack off. I don't know what it is, but it was near impossible for me to get a full stack. The short buyin donks love to donate though.
