I've seen this type of personality before on another forum. usually goes like this:

shows a great willingness to learn and get better.
post hands and get alot of responses on how to play better
does well initially
post bad beats where they got in with the best but lost.... be moans variance
ask more questions and still gets lots of responses.
usually only responds to certain replies or parts of a reply that agrees with what they want to hear. but shows a distinctly wrong mental approach to the game.
may or may not get combative/defensive at responses that cleary point out their problems or disagree with their point of view.
alternatively they will be quick to agree with these replies and say all the right things... seemingly getting it.
does well for a while then post more bad beats....

I dont know much about this guy but from the responses this seems very similar to a situation on another forum. i'm sure that at least 3 points above applies to him. One major point i think everyone is missing is that this type of person is also an attention whore. therefore he likes the fact that this thread gets 62 responses. Just stop responding with the same advice over and over, he's heard it before.

sngdude if i've wronged u i appologize but the only way you can prove me and everyone else wrong is to do the right thing... words will no suffice.

I consider BTP forums to be the place with the smartest bunch of people i've seen on the internet (well, not including a couple MENSA forums I've seen ) but lately, this thread is not very BTP-like. It seems more like the kind of responses some people get on 2+2.

SNGnoob is in trouble, and some of you are using what could be an opportunity to help, to make him feel even worse. SHAME on you.

If he hasnt been following advice is maybe because he simply cant. If you dont have anything constructive to say/do when there is a REAL problem with people, just learnhow to SHUT THE F*CK UP instead of trying to show off and sound smart.

You have a gambling problem...accept it and deal with it...online poker may not be for you.

I've gone to SNG and not doing too bad atm, taking a break from ring games. I'll post results after 100 games, playing 8 at a time.

So anyone saying anything but 'just quit poker' is compounding the problem?
