KT makes trips 5-handed. Big stack gives me a LOT of action.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (5 handed) from (Format: Bet The Pot)

Button (t590)
SB (t2470)
BB (t5555)
UTG (t1470)
Hero (t3415)

Preflop: Hero is MP with [Kd], [Tc].
UTG calls t200, Hero calls t200, 1 fold, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: (t800) [Ts], [3h], [Th] (4 players)
SB checks, BB bets t200, UTG folds, Hero raises to t800, SB folds, BB raises to t1400, Hero calls t600.

Turn: (t3600) [9c] (2 players)
BB bets t1800, Hero ?

The pre-flop call was a little loose. Basically, I wanted to call a BTN all-in, but I also want to know how serious UTG is about his hand for cheap. Sometimes short-stacks will just limp good hands hoping for some action. I intend on playing this hand very cautiously unless I hit big, like I did on the flop.

BB has been a "stupid LAG" (def a donkafied LAG). He doesn't know when to stop betting. All I lose to on that flop is AT, T3, and 33. None of which are that likely. But when he min-raises my re-raise, I was worried. Once he pushed the turn, I cancelled out 33 for sure. I called hoping he had something like JT. I know this was a risky call so close to the bubble, but I figure winning here makes me the big stack and cripples BB. Basically, I was playing for 1st. If he had me beat, so be it. Not folding it. If he has AT, I still have a lot of outs for a split (FH) and a few for a FH of my own.

I'm thinking I should have just pushed to his 3-bet anyway.

Poker is silly.

It is not enough to be good at chess, you must also play well.

Somewhere in the world someone is training when you are not. When you race him, he will win.

Well, he's claiming he has a ten - the questions is, what does he have to go with it?

If he is as donkified as you have him read, he has a Varkonyi ( QT) and you are golden.

This is, of course, why that limp is a bad move - you get into situations like this. But having done that - your call on the flop is worse. With that call you are now in for half your stack with two cards to go. Push on the flop or fold.

Having called - now you have to decide -
1. Fold and you are still in 3rd place with 9 BB.
2. Call (you can't call that a push with only 15 chips left) and pray to the poker gods.

Too late - you decided to play for your stack when you called the flop - PUSH.

Ok, so you limp after a limp with a hand that's at best marginal and oh by the way usually dominated. Now we're really swimming with the fish when you call a raise. This is going to get better?

All right, you've been properly chastised, so I won't dump on you any more. Not at all surprised that you won it. The only real hand you could realistically give him that beats you is AT and donkeys love to raise with AT, and go all in with AJ--the "new AA." lol

Don't you just hate it when donkeys get rewarded for their terrible play?

Takes big balls to post a hand like that in a public forum, but we all know our EP has gigantic cojones. He actually posts on 2+2.

At least I didn't open-limp with it?

The only raise I'd call would be BTNs. It would only cost me 390 more into a massive pot, so even if I KNEW I was dominated it's an easy call. But there's no reason to assume I'd be dominated just by BTN going all-in. If BTN goes all-in and UTG goes all-in, I also fold.

Yes, I've taken my harassments for the limp. Like I said, I would never go crazy on a single-pair hand here. I know my hand is weak. I would never call a big bet, or raise a big bet on the flop with the pair. I've only invested 200 so far out of my 3400 stack. But when I hit trips or two-pair, I'm definitely going crazy with it. And if it were checked to me when I paired up, I would throw in a bet - I am in latest position after all.

Well, I know I play weak/tight, but if there is ANY FREAKIN' WAY they can suckout on me, they will. Someday I'll get the twitch out of me. Probably when I finally give up.
