3-Tabling 200NL Some Hands (200NL FR)

Postby WayToGo » Wed Jun 21, 2006 9:48 am

So i got my roll over the 4k and i actually felt like testing the 200NL waters

When i saw the first 200NL stats popping up my screen it seems less hard then 100NL actually the average PFR and V$iP are slightly higher. I see an awfull lot of MultiTablers at the moment on 100NL so it might be good.

Some hands from today i thought were questionable.

If i don't mention reads i don't have any.

Hand Numero Uno:

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed)

MP3 ($165.85)
CO ($172)
Button ($337.16)
SB ($174.95)
BB ($40)
UTG ($319.95)
UTG+1 ($197)
UTG+2 ($152.30)
kaknub ($200)
MP2 ($104.27)

Preflop: kaknub is MP1 with [Jd], [Jh]. SB posts a blind of $1.
3 folds, kaknub raises to $8, 4 folds, SB (poster) calls $7, 1 fold.

STandarD

Flop: ($18) [5c], [5s], [6h] (2 players)
SB bets $6, kaknub raises to $20, SB calls $14.

Standard??

Turn: ($58) [4h] (2 players)
SB checks, kaknub bets $40, SB calls $40.

Check/fold river if called??

River: ($138) [6s] (2 players)
SB calls $106.95 (All-In), kaknub folds.

The 6 is obviously a scarecard and yet he didn't really show strength in the actual hand yet. Assuming we assume that all people we don't have reads on are donks i don't think he's capable of pulling a move with 88/99 am i right?? I think not even with a 5 he would move in like that. In retro respect: which idiot calls 40$ on the turn with a louzy 2 pair. I know this sounds hypocritic but i really didn't know what to make of it.
If it matters : He moved in within 3 seconds.

HAnd # deux.:

The reason i post this is because i'm OOP, and if i'm right it's more likely to get floated at 200NL. I really think i'm being floated on such dry board, it is not likely i hit shit or he, but i can represent by betting flop AND turn. Am i thinking too advanced and is 200NL just the next level, (on 100NL there is hardly hardly ever floating going on. )

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ kaknub (8 handed)

UTG+1 ($59.84)
MP1 ($135.50)
MP2 ($88.60)
CO ($182.35)
Button ($420.66)
SB ($145)
kaknub ($200)
UTG ($195)

Preflop: kaknub is BB with [Kc], [Ac]. SB posts a blind of $1.
2 folds, MP1 calls $2, 3 folds, SB (poster) completes, kaknub raises to $8, MP1 calls $8, SB folds.

Flop: ($22) [6d], [Qh], [Qs] (2 players)
kaknub bets $18, MP1 calls $18.

Turn: ($58) [Jh] (2 players)
kaknub checks, MP1 checks.

I put him on some PP actually, but is it profitable to move him off his hand or will they call down no matter what???

River: ($58) [2d] (2 players)
kaknub checks, MP1 checks.

No point in trying to get him off his hand here since he will likely call seeing how the turn played out.

Final Pot: $58

Hand # Trés:

If i had followed my read, i would have gone all-in on the river figuring he was not that strong (on this board) but possibly beat me. Is this call thin??

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed)

SB ($388.45)
BB ($307.95)
UTG ($195.70)
UTG+1 ($355.65)
UTG+2 ($47.30)
kaknub ($203.40)
MP2 ($167)
MP3 ($94.05)
CO ($73.65)
Button ($182.30)

Preflop: kaknub is MP1 with [Kd], [Qh]. SB posts a blind of $1.
3 folds, kaknub raises to $7, 4 folds, SB (poster) calls $6, 1 fold.

Flop: ($16) [8h], [8c], [Qc] (2 players)
SB checks, kaknub bets $10, SB raises to $20, kaknub calls $10.

Turn: ($56) [5s] (2 players)
SB bets $25, kaknub calls $25.

River: ($106) [5d] (2 players)
SB bets $35. kaknub calls 35$ ????

Final Pot: $141

Any Comments are well appreciated!

Hand 1) I'd prefer you raise the fop to 25. I want to end it right there, or I want good information on how to play the turn. As played, I check the turn. Are you ahead or behind on the turn after he calls your pfr and flop raise? I dunno. I want pot control.

Hand 2) I've got no major problems. No way I fire the second bullet. I might even checkraise as that's how most guys with AQ play that kind of hand.

Hand 3) I had a very similar hand where I had AK and wondered if my opponent had aces up. I think this might be a spot for a turn min raise. I've got no problems with your call though.

Hand 1: Good as played

Hand 2: Good as played

Hand 3: Good as played

None of these are fun hands, but I think you've done the right thing. The last hand you might consider giving up to the min-raise entirely. You're not going to get him fold though he probably as 82 or something terrible.

hand 1 - check behind on the turn and call a reasonable river bet

hand 2 - i need a read to bet this turn, but you're right, there is a lot more floating going on at NL200 than there was at NL100.

hand 3 - re-raise or fold the flop, i dislike your call for a few reasons. unless the villian was on a complete bluff you're not going to get anymore out of him if he has a worse hand, however he'll bet hands that beat you and you'll feel obliged to call down (as you did). also you get to find out if he has a monster for a lot cheaper. that river bet is a valuebet if i've ever seen one, i think the issue in this hand was the flop though. anyway, making it $40 on the flop will almost guarantee you a free river if he calls and if he raises it's an easy fold. if he calls and leads the turn it's an easy fold. if the turn/river aren't terrible you can consider calling a bet on the river, but i think in most cases it's best to fold to a bet by him, as QJ/QT/Q9 will check hoping to get a free/cheap showdown. if he bluffs you off the hand then props to him.
Poker is silly.

It is not enough to be good at chess, you must also play well.

Somewhere in the world someone is training when you are not. When you race him, he will win.
