The other 5k PLO hands

Postby Stoneburg » Sun Jun 25, 2006 4:12 am

I posted my first 5k hands ( http://livepokerforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14832 ) of PLO a while back and got a lot of feedback now I have played another 5k (and change) after making some (hopefully good) changes. I was running pretty cold for a while so my winrate is way down, but hopefully my game is slightly better. Old values are inside the ( ):

Vpip: 28.4 (31.7) - Definetely tighter.
VpipSB: 43.3 (48.8) - Tighter but still loose. Ok?
Wonwsf: 27.4 (25.8)
WtSD: 19.5 (20.5)
WonSD: 45.6 (44.2) - Actually up a tad

I think my WtSD has dropped a bit mainly because I've not been running very hot. Since I play tighter maybe it should go up, I dunno. The very low WonSD is probably due to two things: People not paying off my nuts on the river (how dare they?) and lots of pots being checked down (I admit to some bad calls and bluffs though). I fold to river bet 70% of the time.

Aggression:
PFR: 2.0 (2.1)
Flop: 2.2 (1.5)
Turn: 2.5 (1.8)
River: 1.9 (2.1)

It's gone up except for river, which I assume is good. In hold'em my aggression is usually much higher on the flop and then drops off towards the river, but here I figure the turn probably IS where you should be making the decision most of the time.

Position stats (Vpip / Pfr / BB/100):
OTB: 35.2 / 4.9 / -0.18 (36,5 / 3,4 / +0,14)
1: 32 / 3.5 / -0.18 (31,2 / 4,6 / +0,77)
2: 31.8 / 3.2 / +0.61 (34 / 4,2 / -0,43)
3: 27.2 / 1.2 / -0.22 (32 / 2,2 / +0,71)
4: 27.6 / 0.3 / -0.21 (33 / 0,2 / +0,54)
5: 28.7 / 0.6 / -0.20 (29 / 1,5 / -0,11)
6: 20.0 / 1.1 / +0.30 (31,3 / 1,2 / +0,40)
7: 22.5 / 2.5 / +0.31 (33,3 / 1,3 / -0,79)
BB: 8.8 / 0.7 / +0.17 (9,4 / 0,63 / -0,29)
SB: 43.3 / 1.0 / +0.46 (SB: 48,8 / 1 / +0,61)

Five biggest winning hands:
1. TT76 (Quite marginal all-in 4-way on the flop with a straight and flush draw blockers against 2 sets and a flush draw)
2. QJT9 (One all-in preflop against 2 shortys, one straight against muppet with bottom set)
3. KK52 (Marginally +EV 3 way all-in on the turn with top set against two made straights)
4. KQ75 (SB, all-in on turn three way with nut straight and flush redraw, against morons with low flush draw and two-pair)
5. AKJ9 (All-in flop 3 way with straight and flush draw)

No really bad plays rewarded. Several very marginal coinflip situations though, but also some solid play.

Five biggest losers:
1. 8654 (Twice against maniacs, once with two-pair and straight draw against made straight, once with 2:nd nuts against nuts)
2. KK66 (Flopped nut full and got sucked out on the river by AA)
3. QJ98 (Big bluff gone wrong)
4. KQJ7 (Big wrap against bottom straight)
5. A653 (NFD+OESD against low flush draw who hits twopair)

Even mix of horrible play and bad beats.

BB100: 7.16

So can I advance or is it back to school for another 5k hands? I only got about 30 buyins for the $50 level so I'm thinking I'll stay in school until I have 40 or 50.

How many tables do you play? I'd maybe say (if you play 3 for instance) play one $50 table and keep the rest at 25 to wet your feet and then jump in. 30 buyins is prob enough for the 50 game quite comfortably, you can always drop back if you lose 10 or so.

No reason you can't go to "school" and keep improving your play at the next level up.

I haven't played nearly as many hands as you Stoneburg but your aggression is way above mine.
My numbers are
VIP 26.04
Preflop raise 2.17
Flop 0.87
Turn 1.06
River 1.35
BB/100 9.3

My river stats are about where I want them as I don't bluff very often on the river and when I have the nuts I will bet it. My flop and turn stats are lower than I would like. Yours are closer to where I think I should be.
I'm interested in what others think of your stats. To me they look good.
Do you multitable? If so, how many?
Also where do you play?
It's unlucky to be superstitious
