I've been listening to The Circuit on my commute to work since Xas told me about it a few weeks ago. The content is quite good, and it's an easy listen.

I thought it would be a good idea to write some reviews of the shows that I've listened to. One reason to do this is to give newcomers to the show an idea of what they might want to listen to first. Another reason is to remind myself of some of the poker/gambling/life wisdom I take away from the show.

Anyway, I welcome others to post their own reviews and comments.

This first post will be a laundry list of shows that I've listened to up until now. I don't remember a lot of specifics, but I remember enough to make some blurbs.

This guest has high asshole potential, but he could also be really cool. He started off gambling buy betting $70k (two years of income from the skycap business he owned) on the Lakers at 6 to 1 the first year Phil Jackson brought home the grits. After taking that down, he did more sports betting and is apparently successful at it. He seems mostly to bet over/unders for NBA. He claims to have watched every NBA game one year, and still watches a lot. Interesting.

He claims to have started playing poker for the "social aspects" of the game. He says he lost a bundle (six figures -- listen to the show for details) learning the game. Apparently he earned enough from sports betting that this didn't phase him. Anyway, he plays the big cash games now, and seems to do tourneys for fun.

One interesting game he talks about is the 200/400 blind (100 on the button, 40k min buy-in) NLHE game he plays in. He says there can be one or two million on the table sometimes. I'd love to watch that game.

Anyway, listening to this guy talk poker is fun. Listening to his thoughts on women is both interesting and amusing.

Don't remember much from this one other than Layne busting Mike's balls and Mike bellyaching the whole show about a donkey play he made at the end of the day. IIRC, Flack said some good poker stuff.


Also, one parting question...

What happened to The Mouth? I heard him being cranky on the Flack show, but I don't know the story about how or why he left the show. It sounds like there's a lot of ill will. Any comments are appreciated.

Thought I would give this a bump and remind everyone that the Circuit is broadcasting again! They started a couple of days ago, and I think they are going to broadcast through the Series. Awesome!

I like Scott Huff too...he is the "every man" poker player, admits he is not that good, but he also makes sure that good questions get asked, and he seems to keep the show from going off on too much of a tangent.
