god damn it I hate donking off a stack when I shouldn't. Phucking AA in the BB and the CO raised 2.5 in a 50 NL game button calls and I crank it up to 7 or so and CO calls. Flop KJ5 (2hearts) and I bet 12 or so and the guy goes all in just screaming to me "hey donk I know you have AA so I am going to put your ass all in with my set". I suppose he could have had other hands but there is no sense in calling off a stack in that situation. That said I think I have found my Peter Principle niche at the the 50 NL game. Just spinning my wheels at limit now and not doing any good at the 100 NL either. Just alot of frustration I guess as I have just lost all desire to play low limit holdem on the internet so hopefully I can tough it out with the NL game to build my dwindling BR back up to respectable levels before I head out of here to Vegas.

On other notes the woman just came in with a beagle. Now I love animals probably more than most folks but I am not at all fond of keeping dogs couped up in a house. She said the owner wasn't allowed to have the dog anymore so out of the kindness of her heart she put the burden on me to take care of it is what it comes down to. Phuck.

Don't know if I can call it playing poker as it is more like waiting for sets and then letting the donks give me their stacks but as long as it is working not going to argue with the results. Put in nearly 1800 hands today of 50 NL for a nice profit. Eight tabling so actually a little less than 4 hours of work doing so and not that strenuous either. Running at 11.5 PTBB/100 over the last 2400 hands. Don't know how that stacks up long term but seems a reasonable win rate. Playing pretty well and didn't really make any big mistakes tonight. Laid down a couple of hands where I could have been ahead but decided to wait for better spots. I'll post a few and if anyone has any insights or suggestions feel free to fire away. Just nice to start the month off on a winning note after a pretty stagnant end of June.

Min raise with the first hand can probably be folded. Minraise=monster in NL, too much evidence to the contrary. Also, that guy who had 55 to your JJ and played his set fast on the flop...he played a set fast on the flop. That deserves a big not in my book at a Party table.

I do like how you avoided trouble in those early hands and lost the minimum and folded. Nice work.

Well donked off 24.67 in a hand with KK versus AA that I could have saved as I had taken the lead in the hand with position and he only fires out a 5.00 bet on the river and instead of just calling I put him all in for the extra, damn. Well in over 3K hands I have only lost 10.00 or more 6 times at the 50 NL game so not too shabby. Two of those with AA versus set of 5's and this KK versus AA. The other three were smallish 10.00-15.00 losses. Got another stack today with a set over set and would have managed a decent session but at the end my top two ran into a river flush where he only bet 0.50 TY sir and another chap that chased a runner runner flush versus my overpair. Well just a small win for the day thus far but it is better than a finger in the eye I suppose. Got a couple of T-bones marinating with some cold ones at the ready so think it is about time to fire up the old grill.

Well the T-bones and cervezas were pretty righteous. Played another session of the 50 NL game and won a moderate amount. I think it is going to take some substantial bad luck to have a losing day at that limit if I get in 2K hands or so a day but I suppose it can happen Nice hand here that turned to shit on the river but I will take this situation all day long.

Damn I played well this morning with the exception of one phucking hand that really pisses me off. I know better than to do what I did on the turn but yet donked off another stack to an obvious set. Earlier in the session I had lost the minimum with AA against a set and I should have been able to do so here as well but just lost all discipline. Still won a little over 100 in close to 1000 hands but just not satisfied with myself for donking off chips like that so I am taking a little break for a beer run and hit up another session this afternoon. Some hands of the day thus far.

I just call raises with AA if the pot is likely to be HU or at most 3 players as I think the disguise value is probably worth alot more than tipping your hand off IF YOU DON"T PHUCK YOURSELF during the hand. This time I called a raise from a super tight player so I knew exactly were he was.

Recipe for beating low limit NL or foolishness? Most of these folds are to solid preflop raisers. I just don't like calling raises with AKo as I have found that ALOT of the time you are trailing a little or crippled and the times you do hit you aren't able to extract that much post flop. Comments.

I don't have a problem calling the first raise with AKo/s...I'm quickly dumping it if there's a reraise, of course. If I get TPTK in a spot where we're HU and I called the raise, I'm basically playing to take it down on the flop...otherwise I'm going to get away from it a lot. I'm more inclined to get away from the K-high flop than the A-high since it's MUCH less likely you're beaten on the A-high flop - and quite likely you're splitting - since all the aces have to be out for you to be behind...whereas you can hit your K and still be behind to AA.

Well not alot of love this morning in the 50 NL game although I have managed to win nearly a stack in a little over 1100 hands but would have been quite a bit more barring some nasty although not necessarily bad beats. Some hands for the day thus far. I thought I played nearly perfect this morning with the exception of one hand where I think I left some money on the table the way I played it. So although the results weren't great I think my NL play is getting better by the day. A couple of hands I played against the rocky guy that I stacked yesterday when he had QQ and I had AA went his way today but it is so easy to put him on a hand that I scraped out losing the minimum both times.

Mother phucker. They might as well change my screen name to Rock of Mother Phucking Gibralter. EVERY time I stepped out with a speculative hand in late position I flopped a big hand and got crushed with it. Those extra hands are a necessary at the higher limits against more sophisticated opponents and that by god is where I am leaving them because at the 50 NL level there ain't no need to get fancy. On top of all that bullshit I lost with second full to river quads which the only good thing about that was he was short stacked. When that shit happens probably best to call it a day. Amidst all of the shit beats I still have managed a 50.00 win for today which after looking at some of these hands is pretty damn amazing.

Well went back for a little late night session and managed to put together a little more scratch to make it a somewhat respectable day. Also played for 1.5 hours at WPEX in some 2-4 limit O8B game but just broke even overall there.
