So let's say I have AK, the pot is raised, and the flop is A72. Full stacks. Should I:

1) Play the flop fast. An opponent without an KK-TT range probably calls the flop bet but won't call a turn bet. I maximize versus AQ type hands but lose value versus the KK-TT range. I also hang myself against sets, aces up, and other goofy hands.

or

2) Check the A on the flop (and perhaps CR?). Say the turn is a blank, now I come alive and QQ/JJ/TT will call a turn AND a river bet. I still get some value against AQ but I'm a street late for building a pot. I also get a read on them and could minimize my losses against sets, aces up, etc.

If tribeca players are donktards like you/ice make them out to be... I think straight forward play is best. OOP vs position have completely different lines (I'm sure you know) but it depends on the type of player. For loss of value vs KK-TT isn't that why we check the turn to induce bluffs? Perhaps raising them on the river if you know you are good is where you could maximize value. I have always thought about raising on the river vs obvious induced bluffs but.... I'll make my own thread about that rather than hijack.

If you are in position, and there's not really any draws out there, I like betting flop, chk turn, and then fire out a substantial river bet, as TT-KK most likely will call, suspecting a bluff.
