From the POV of my opponent in this hand - he was relatively solid but prone to slight douchebaggery of the calling station kind (i.e. he called down to the river with a set of aces and no low on a A64 board with 2 to a flush). My feeling when the river went down was that he had to have had turned a big draw (maybe wrap round the top plus flush, or open-ender, low plus flush). With a deeper stack I think he should've got away from his second set here as (if I have top set) he's either way behind or (if I have a big draw) probably not too far ahead.

However, with a smaller stack maybe it's tough for him. I do raise quite a lot of hands he's beating on the flop and I would then make a full bet with most of them on the turn.... see what you think.

i would usually fold to your raise on the flop. from what little i've played with you, you don't raise without the goods, a monster draw, or a play calling shenanigans. as villain, i'd want at least a redraw to continue.

calling with position isn't terrible, but i'd want some redraws just in case. when the turn comes, i still have no redraws, and you fire another barrel, i'd almost definitely lay it down.

this advice is a bit WT, but i'm not so sure it is bad. i'd have to have a read that you're a total donkey to play a hand this way without QQxx or a draw that makes it at best a crooked coinflip. you're not that bad of a player. also, what else could you have? a set of threes? jamming with top two into two callers? i doubt it -- that's not your style.

let me make it clear, if i see a guy making BS plays like this without the goods on a regular basis (e.g., BBP when he's not behaving), i'll get it all in the middle with this every time. that being said, you don't get that far out of line.

Hmmm, in retrospect he can still make a raise on the flop and escape with about 2/3 of his stack; perhaps that should've been his line (although in general I don't like raising the crap out of sets in PLO8 on the flop, here the turn isn't likely to be especially "safe" for his hand as 90% of the safe cards make a low draw or straight, and there's a third player in who complicates matters so trapping someone with 2 pair, overpair plus draw etc. is made more difficult with a third hand to factor into the equation). I think he probably needs to find out ASAP if he's beat. If I raise the flop here I'm betting full pot on the turn again 80-90% of the time so to call hoping for a safe turn is probably not that good (i.e. he's looking for a T, board pair, or at a push perhaps a non-suited low card or one of the less likely straightening cards).

Incidentally if I raised w/ top two here, by the turn I've probably got some draw to go along with it and (given the relatively low likelihood of someone holding a set) I probably would fire another barrel in most cases (depending on how deep the stacks are, who the opponents are and whether I have any extra draws to go along with it, such as a raggy low draw, flush draw, or a hand like two pair plus an open ender).
