I don't have a problem with the mini-raise with position. I'm really less certain about the A8s re-raise.

Anyhow, hand 2 makes this guy look to me very station-ish... calling even the mini-raise with that hand seems weird to me, then further calling with gutshot and runner-runner... ?? Do you have that read prior to these hands?

If you're going to pay him off regardless of river, you might as well push the turn yourself, I suppose.

I dunno, against a station, I think I call with A8s, possibly even lay down. The 33 hand I'm not so sure about. Depending on flow of the game, I might double or triple the pot on the flop against a station. It does seem a bit outlandish to push the turn, but that's at least an option. And if he's really a station, I think you do have to fold the river, checking it to him might also be decent (and calling within reason). I think it really depends on your take of how he plays. I do agree that it's awfully rough laying down a set HU.

Aisthesis,

This guy was a clear winner.. not a calling station. He was playing around 5 tables and was up on each one. I was watching a little bit before I sat down and he was TAG.. but capable of a move or two... basically a good player.

Which is why hand #1 shocked me. Hanging around with a 76 suited in that spot was not taggish at all. At some point he had to think he was beat right? preflop, the flop, the turn lol. I actually had him 52/48 on the flop. I wonder if he had just lost a big hand on another table and was tilting. That seems logical.

After I lost that hand i got back $300 with pretty much nothing hands..he was quite passive and easy to beat. but the first real hand he hits the runner runner on me. It's like he switched gears on me and just became a station. I wonder if maybe I should have folded that set given how passive he had been. but like i said... a set heads up is very hard to fold.

tough hand. i should have bet more on the turn though.. at least 120. (btw an allin on the turn didn't really make sense on this guy because i would lose alot of value. i think the only thing he calls with are top two or a higher set.)
