I tried bowling yesterday. My GF and me + two friends were playing. I decided to play a low variance game to increase my winniong chances. I figured that the other guy who used to be an athlete would be better than me, but would probably play more high variance. Sure enough he would throw the ball really hard, but he would also end up in the gutter from time to time. I didn't put as much force into it but stayed out of the gutter.

We went two series, I ended up with 216 (114+102) he ended up with 198. My girlfriend on the other hand ended up at 215, so I was 2 points away from being teased incessantly for the rest of my life.

I used an 11lbs ball most of the time, sometimes a 12lbs. I liked the color better on the 11lbs, it was a nice shade of blue. Having blue balls is only funny in english though. :/
