Like I said its a really tough spot, I have seen a lot of donks make this play with A rag too. Like I said I think its a borderline fold, calling isnt a terrible play at all, take some notes and move on not much else you can do. My comment was more directed at the idea of "having only X amount of dollars invested." You can make the call and lose to the nuts and it can still be the correct call. Since most people raise AK and AQ preflop, the only hands that are likely to be beating you here are AJ, A10, and 55. You beat A8 A7 A4 A4 A2, my guess is that you are pretty much 50/50 to win maybe a little less. A high variance play for sure. Villian in this hand played his hand really badly, he is jsut lucky that you had the correct hand to pay him off.

anyway... the instapush bluff isnt really for this situation. instapush bluffs happen when a scare card hits the river... say a flush or striaght, maybe an ace.

I was rereading ciaffone's book:

"When an opponent whose betting late in a hand is inconsistent with his betting early in a hand, the later information is likely to be the truth."

Sry, saw the results, but I have seen this line too many times for it not to be the nuts about 90% of the time on a completely obvious board. I was going to guess the AJ.
