I guess I've always written for the pleasure of writing, as I've not been paid much to do it. Moliere said, "Writing is like prostitution. First, you do it for fun, then for a few friends, and finally for money." I'm still writing for friends.
I doubt seriously if I could get the point across to one individual. The good news about writing is you may reach someone who needs it.
