Lots of reasons to make that pf play live...that's not a problem at all.

However, I hate the flop raise. Just call and get it in on the turn.

Im raising 10xbb because its the standard raise which has been developped within the game. Anything less leaves all 8 players calling. ( I know NLHTAP suggests that this is an error but I chose to play this pot a little harder than I should have).. and my thinking here was that with an overpair to the board.. villian would have been very hard pressed to fold. Keep in mind IMO villian so far has been a very mediocre player. Decent but would probabley call with an overpair thinking its the nuts.

On the flop I think you did the right thing. One option would of course be to flat call and then push any non-club turn but there are downsides to that.

- If an Ace comes, you might lose action from TT-QQ
- The board is very draw heavy, free card can lose it
- Pot is plenty big, no need to slowplay
- People always think you have a flush draw when you push

Besides, it's fun to go all-in live, and it will teach people not to lead into you when you've raised preflop.

It's not a bad line of thinking. The point is that the EV of your play is better if you push on the turn and he still calls with an inferior hand. As TheUnknownPlayer says, the good play is the enemy of the great play.

Since you have position on your opponent, this allows you to make a better decision. And I'm also willing to bet that anyone who has read and posted to a poker discussion forum is automatically better than 75% of the players at live $1-$2 games.
