It seems lately that I am creating the hands I can beat in my head, instead of really analyzing the situation. He flipped over AJ for the two pair. Thanks for the idea of checking behind and keeping the pot small, Genius.

I really can't see you beating anything that check/raised you on the turn like that. I'm thinking 55 plays that much in the same way as an AJ. You even noted after the flop that his call scared you, so your read was correct. Slow down after his flop call and check behind on the turn. See how he acts on the river and play accordingly.
