I don't know the raising quantity here, but I did have trouble with this one guy at the casino (we were playing for $500 and he won) who would straddle every time in SB/button. Not only were the stakes then higher when he had position but he also then had position PF.

Given the positional advantage of the button, I decided (after the fact--during the match I was looser in my calls) that playing only about top 50% was the best response to this play. If the raise is larger one might want to get a little tighter still.

I was playing possum and trying to trap him. Im not sure how good an option that is though. The few times I did trap him, he outdrew me.

I only reraised him 3 times and he called all 3 times and then fold to my flop bet so that might be better, although its expensive as hell if I have nothing.

He was raising $35 every hand. The 3 times I reraised him it was to $110.

Well just because you got sucked out on hardly means it was a bad idea. Obviously without the suckouts you'd have taken him money. Sounds like you were already playing a good strategy against him but since he didn't call your CB's when you re-raised you should probably do that a little more often.
