They've done something like this over at FCP, and I think it'd be fun to do here.

Description

Create a NLHE HU SnG league for BTP members in which players play low stakes ($5.50?) HU SnGs (most likely at Stars) in a league format. Players will have one or two games scheduled a week. The winners of each division and perhaps wildcards advance to the playoffs. Top four positions win money from the prize pool created by participation fees.


Tenative plan

- First and foremost, this is just a loose idea. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

- Find out how many are interested and make leagues based on those numbers. 16 players would be great.

- Based on how many divisions and participants, we devise a "playoff" system.

- Money for the prize pool should be modest -- maybe $25 a player? All money is returned to the top-finishing players (i.e., there is no rake on the prize pool). If there are ten players, maybe the prize pool could be split 50-30-10-10

- On top of the participation fees, each player must be willing to pay the SnG entry fees. Again, these will be kept modest so that the widest range of people can play.

- One or two "games" will be scheduled a week. Participants can arrange their own times to play, but there will be a "default time" during which the game must be played if no alternative time can be arranged. Ultimately we will be using "gentlemen's rules", but we need to have some kind of format so that people can't stall and/or avoid games. I should also add that four games a week is also possible should everyone agree.
