Has anyone else noticed this happening more and more lately? Last few sessions I've either had people trying this with me..or sometimes I see fairly aggressive players doing this fairly regularly.

The line usually goes, everyone folds to the SB, SB raises and bets the flop, and the BB tends to fold. Occasionally you'll find a raising war but it seems like the SB being ultra aggressive seems to be working for some. I've tried it occasionally, with mixed results.

Anyone have any insight as to advantages/disadvantages thoughts about this? I have a hard time actually seeing the value in this because your OOP the whole time from the SB so why get into a battle there?

I noticed a guy doing it the other day against someone practically every time it got down to him and the BB. He'd just bet, raise, cap almost everytime and I don't think he ever showed a hand down in maybe 5-10 times it happened. I actualy predicted his raise anytime it got folded to blind vs. blind. His numbers were 29/22/4.00.

Anyone have any insight on this play.

I don't raise much at all from the SB because of the position factor. If I am playing a 1/3 SB game then I generally fold most of my hands. In my opinion raising affectiveness from the small is going to be very dependant on who is sitting in the BB. If you have a person like me in the BB and you are constantly raising it is going to be a very long day for you unless you are just card racking it up because you are simply not going to be able to outplay me out of position. If you can steam roll your opponent in the BB, which for the most part just isn't going to happen for long in a SH game, then do so but by and large I think that calling is usually a better option if you want to see a flop regardless of what hand you are holding. It takes alot of experience in the trenches to learn how to best handle specific type of opposition in this situation with all the different variables you will face with hand strength, flop board, etc. etc. etc. OOP I just think it is best to keep the pot small in most cases if you decide to play unless you are playing against a total pansy that won't fire back unless he is holding a big hand.

If I have a donk better and/or caller to the end then the best way to handle him is just fold when you have nothing and sponge him on the flop, turn and raise the river with any kind of hand at all. When you are getting 3:1 on your preflop call you don't have to fight it out every hand when you completely whiff against these guys, just wait until you actually connect with some type of hand and punish them on the later streets which will more than make up for the times you completely whiff the flop and give it up early.
