Anyhow, I won't claim that anyone could figure this all out at the table, although I think with a fairly loose raising range, the A-high flop and K-high flop ideas at least hold--with a danger card also being the card immediately below your own.

To add to the confusion, I'll throw in a FR 2/5 hand I had against a very good loose player who has done extremely well in tournaments.

I have JJ and make it $25 to go in MP (can't remember how many limpers). He raises to $60, and we both have over $1,000. I call.

Flop is all rags. I bet out $100 or so, and he raises me to $400. I fold.

He said after the hand that he had TT, which is quite possible anyway.

I wonder whether I should have tried a c-r myself, although maybe JJ is just too weak here. There's also enough stack-depth that if I c-r to $300-$400 myself, he can still push, which would be awfully ballsy with TT, but possible, since he knows I didn't hit the board (this hand was prior to my randomized raising strategy) and he is repping AA.

Anyhow, against loose re-raisers, there's a lot to think about on how to play various boards. Maybe on the JJ, my line was the best (if one assumes the same range for this guy as you do for your opponent, and he'll fold AK right there).
