2 set hands, on good tables 6-max.

Hand 1. (1-2$ 6 players)

UTG is a total fish, the BB can get stubborn with top pair and has semi-bluffed draws and looks to be on tilt in this hand (he only had 9.75). Is this standard or am I going crazy, been away from HE for awhile?

Hero is UTG +1 with [Ts] [Th]

UTG calls, Hero raises, 3 folds, BB calls, UTG calls.

Flop: [8c] [9c] [Td]

BB bets, UTG calls, Hero raises, BB 3-bets, UTG calls, Hero caps, 2-calls

Now UTG could have anything but he at least has top pair, probably something like T5 or something his VPIP is over 80. Now the BB could also have a huge range, smaller set, 89, a flush draw, a made straight, just a J or just a 7, or maybe just AQ or 77 type hands, he appears to be on tilt, I cap with the intention of just calling down unless I fill up

Turn: [2h]

BB bets, UTG calls, hero calls

River: Probably the worst card in the deck [Qc]
Now UTG is all in more 1.25 or something, UTG of course calls, now I just make a crying call which is probably a mistake. Now that is an awful card, but with UTG fish just calling should I have raised and got some of his money?? he will pay me off with alot of crap and I may still be ahead of the BB if he has a smaller set?? I dunno, this hand seems screwy

Hand 2 (2-4$, 5 handed )

Pretty much the whole table was full of fish and what I call "sport fish", they are tricky fish who like to bluff alot of scary cards and what not, they don't get caught as easily as regular fish. Table VPIP is over 65%, with very little raising PF.

Hero is on the CO with [4c] [4d]

UTG calls, hero calls, button calls, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: [7c] [6h] [4s]

Now seems like a good flop..

SB checks, BB bets, UTG calls, Hero decides to call, button folds, SB calls

Turn: [3h]

BLAH!! Now SB BETS!!?? BB Calls, UTG raises!!, Hero gets mad at his monitor and folds!

I dunno, I obviously would have called 1 bet here, but SB wakes up and UTG raises here makes me think I am definately beat and don't have the odds to draw to my boat. Now there is a chance they still have crap, and overpair or a flush draw aswell...I dunno??

Hand 1: I raise the turn still. 6-max, people constantly overplay their draws and you have everything but straights beaten and can still fill up. Make them PAY! I just call the river as played. That card is a hand killer. BTW, that hand history is slightly screwy. You have UTG calling UTG, and there are floating [7c]'s on one line.

Hand 2: Raise the flop. Someone has a crappy draw that can beat your hand, so make them pay for it. Also, it makes the pot bigger so you can call for the FH on the turn. As played, unless I am getting the right price, I might fold as well because the action might escalate to 4-bets by the time the turn action ends. I can't imagine the SB betting into three players on that board with a flush draw or two pair; I think he has you beat.

Play your sets fast on drawing boards like these and you will feel better about it.

I never get mad at my monitor, although my bed does take a beating sometimes. It's softer.

Hand 1 I'm playing the flop exactly the same although I'm raising the turn as well, I don't know if I can bring myself to raise the river though on that board, it's a horrible card.

Hand 2 I'm definately raising the flop..... smells like someone made a straight here on the turn but raising the flop on a coordinated board probably would've given you the odds to call and try and fill up.

Anytime I've been hitting a set I jam the pot as much as possible on the flop and usually will almost always pop the turn as well.
