I dont post on here much but I was playing live this weekend and was just wondering on your insight on a few hands.
First a little background:
Villian in hand one came to the game in a cab drunk/high who knows, he was just messed up. He bought in for the full hundo while everyone did $50 buyins.
Hand 1
Im in BB Villian is in SB, folds all around to him (were about 20min into the game and he has been betting $5 preflop everytime and then CBing every street, he really hasnt faced that much opposition except an all in he called with AK and hit his runner runner for a straight)
He raises to $5
I call with J10o (usually i wouldnt call with this im relatively a tight player, but i wanted to see a flop against this guy).
Flop comes Q98 rainbow
He bets out $9 immediately, I think for a little bit then raise him to $20
I know I flopped the nuts but I want to maximize the pot incase of a runner runner suckout who knows what he has.
he then thinks for a little bit then folds.
Should i just have called him there? and Raised the turn?
Hand 2:
Villian in this hand is a relatively tight player, pretty decent guy, took some beats from Villian in hand one so i thought he was tilting a bit.
Im UTG+1 with 10 9 d and raise to $3 or $4 im not sure
I raised because it has been pretty passive at the table and i might get HU with Villian one and dont want any cruddy hands to hit.
Villian calls in LP, and CO calls, fold fold.
Flop comes Kd8dX i dont remember last card sorry
Im first to act and bet $15, i havent been CBing at all this game
Villian raises $30 or so more and hes all in, CO folds,
The pot now stands at around $70 and its $30something to call, is this a good call?
Im sitting behind $100 or so and thought my pot odds were decent so i called
He flips over KsKc for a set, i didnt put him on this hand at all I thought maybe a naked King or maybe 2 pair.
Turn is a diamond and the River doesnt pair the board.
How was my play here?
Other than that a pretty uneventful night, just taking stabs at pots and one big old suckout against my KK with 88 after going all in preflop.
Thanks for your help guys, it has been great reading and learning from you guys over the past year.
