Villain is solid. He knows what he's doing out there and I'm pretty sure I know what he's trying to do out there as well. He is on all 3 of my tables, up on all of them, is 17/8 over 400 hands. Notable hand that we were involved in: I limp w/ 77 in MP, SB completes, and villian chks. We are both deep stacked. Flop is 789 2 hearts. SB chks, villian bets pot, I call as does calling station SB. I want to see what he does on the turn before I commit my chips. turn is blank, bb bets 3/4 pot, i call as does calling station. river is [Qh], completing the flush draw. SB chks/ villain chks, and after some thought, I check too, and villain tables 88. Whew. Onto the hand: I've seen him raise in late position and fold to a reraise from the blinds a couple of times..

Ultimate Bet
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $1./$2.
5 players

Stack sizes:
UTG: $314.05
CO: $211.10
Button: $256.10
SB: $133.80
Hero: $307.05

Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is BB with [Ad] [Kd]
UTG folds, CO calls $2 (pot was $3), Button raises to $9, SB folds, Hero raises to $27, CO folds, Button calls $18 (pot was $37).

Flop: [9h] [3d] [Jd] ($57, 2 players)
Hero bets $44, Button raises all-in $229.1, Hero folds.
Uncalled bets: $185.1 returned to Button.

Results:
Final pot: $145

How many live outs do you think I have? Looked like JJ to me, so I folded.

Wow---this one really got me thinking...I will take a stab at it, but I really am not sure (and I dont play much SH)...

The villain is a tough player, right? If he knows YOU are a tough player and paying attention, this is a perfect time for him to push with a set...(I have tried this overbet move and rarely get called).

I think in real life, I lay this down as well, but not sure it is the correct thing to do. Great post---my head hurts...

Be glad your opponents refuse to fold; if they didn't, you just might go broke.

I think the order of hands he could have here is something like

QQ 35%, KK 15% AA 15%, lower flush draw 15%, JJ 10%, 99 10%.

I don't want to do the math but basically I call.

There is very little chance that he would have QQ. He is fairly tight. Earlier, I saw him checkraise in the BB when he had top two (Jacks and 10s) in a limped pot and slow down on the turn when an A came. He has not seen me do anything funny, he also saw me call him down w/ bottom set so he may very well think I'm a bit tight. If he had qq, he would have to be worried about aa/kk the way I played it, at least think about his decision for a few seconds. But this was an instant push from a pretty good, tight player, not some random donkey. And I think he's good enough to know he may not have that much fold equity based on the strength I'm showing, which IMO, eliminates a drawing hand like [9d][Td]. It seems clear to me at least, that he has a monster. I'm not so sure about this hand though, to be honest. Looking back on it, I'm getting a little less than 2 to 1, and at least 8 live outs. I dont know. I very well may not be used to this level yet, since I think I probably call that at lower stakes. That being said, I still don't think it was that bad a fold based on the read I had.

I had an almost identical hand the other day (0.5/1.00 5 max).

AK suited with the same texture flop. I had raised to 4 in EP and had 2 callers. I checked the flop, MP bet $9 and button raised to $50.

I reraised all-in with my 2 overs and the nut flush draw and they both folded. The guy who raised to $50 thought long and hard though. Must have been a semi-bluff with a smaller flush draw perhaps?

I like the beat him to the pot line, but is it maybe worth it to let the villan take a stab at the pot before you do for some extra value?

I am curoius how others play this sort of flop. More check/call and hope your card hits or are you betting this flop hard and going all the way with it?
