I currently suspect someone of imminently becoming a 'board-defacer', in that they may well attempt to 'do a kfellmy' (replace all their posts with junk e.g. 'asgsygds').
Because of this I've temporarily revoked edit permissions on all areas of BTP for non-moderators until I am happy that the problem has been resolved.
Edit permission causes BTP two problems, and these apply to both the administration and regular users in terms of fallout.
* Board defacers, as discussed above (generally due to falling out with the BTP community for some reason).
* People wanting to rescind advice after thinking it 'gives too much away', e.g. posting strategy advice and then thinking it's 'too good to be public'.
The moderators have discussed these things and the general opinion is that we should eventually attempt to limit edit permission to within a certain time period of the original post, e.g. 3 days. This stops both problems as described above. Hopefully I will have time to look at achieving this within the near future.
Comments and constructive criticism, as always, very welcome.
