Since Ice posted a report, I thought I'd add a couple of hands. First, Aisthesis is a really cool guy. Listening to him and Ice talk strategy was great. I did make a note to look up all the big words later though.
If you read Iceman's live trip report
forum/viewtopic.php?t=17645 you'd know that I pretty much got run over by a tight table all night. I've never felt that abused at a poker table in my life. I felt like everyone of my CB's was raised. I had the nut flush draw 3 times, raised with it all three times on the flop, and never saw a river (well not counting the one I pushed and lost).
A few hands. All are 2/5
1) Villain is pretty tight and fully stacked. I'm in the BB and knuckle it with A[d] 8[d]. Flop is K[s] Q[d] Q[s]. Pot is something like $25. I ck and villain who's last to act bets very weak like $10. I'm the only caller.
Turn ($45) 4[d]. It goes ck/ck.
River ($45) I don't remember the card but it brings the spade flush. I lead $40. I put him on a weak K.
Like or dislike? This would be my only bluff of the night.
2) I have J[s] 5[s] in the BB. A midposition guy raised to $15 and got the typical 3 callers. I decided to call too as it was 2 BB more.
Flop ($60). 8[h] 7[d] 9[c]. I have the double belly buster. I check. I think someone bet something very weak like $10 and 2 of us called.
Turn ($90) T[h]. I check, weak guy bets weak again (I think like 20). The next guy min raises him. I raise a $100 stack.
Thoughts.
3) This hand was tricky. The villain in the hand has position on me and has twice made huge raises on my bets. I've laid down TPGK twice to him and both times I seriously doubted he had it. If I checked a turn, he would lead huge.
However, villain had built a big stack but just lost 1/2 of it when he called a raise with 87, flopped trip 8s, and lost all in when the pfr had A8. He's a bit tilty.
Pot is limped and I have 3[h] 3[c]. Flop is something like 9[d] 7[c] 3[d]. I lead 2/3 pot and he min raises me. He has about $200 left and the pot is about 90.
I decide to just call instead of pushing. My plan is to CRAI on the turn since he has repeatedly blasted my turn checks or even bets. I figure a FD will hit only about 1 in 5 times or so.
Good read or FPS?
