19 players left in the Empire 10k tourney last night.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t1500 (10 handed)

MP3 (t7206)
CO (t6481)
Button (t7730)
SB (t15182)
BB (t18710)
UTG (t12171)
Hero (t17208)
UTG+2 (t6262)
MP1 (t23837)
MP2 (t81772)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with [Ts], [Th].
1 fold, Hero raises to t3000, 7 folds, BB raises to t5600, Hero calls [t14208] t3000, BB calls t11608.

Flop: (t20958) [Qc], [Kh], [Kd] (2 players)

Turn: (t20958) [6h] (2 players)

River: (t20958) [9h] (2 players)

Final Pot: t20958
Villain had q7 suited and all betting was done preflop. We were about equal in chips which was right around average.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw his cards. Did he think I was bluffing from EP? Would you have called my all in for 12k more with q7? Sorry, but this has been bothering me since last night and I need some light shed on this for me.

Stealth... Don't mean to piggyback on Semperfi's posts, but I NEVER min raise for exactly what happened... I'm assuming that he was defending his blinds, and it didn't cost him much because you only minraised... That's why, after the flop, even when he hit his 2 pair, he didn't continue betting... He knew he had a crappy kicker, and there was a chance you had a K... I disagree w/ Semper that you were " destined to lose some $ on this hand"... I think if you would've a. raised 4x BB (he would've folded preflop), b. bet big on the flop (he would've been scared and folded), or limped preflop and either bet the flop (hoping for a fold) or check/folded the flop, you would've minimized your loss % and should have scared him off of what was a crappy starting BB hand...

I have been out of pocket a few days. I don't think the hand history is correct. It looked like you min raised, he min raised you, you called and it was checked to the river.

I can't believe he felt pot committed after his min reraise, so my guess is that he is a believer in the computer hand. Since it worked, he will now probably go to his grave playing it strong. I know a lot of people say never to min raise, but I make a lot of money without committing many chips late in a tourney when I can afford it if the table is tight. It also enables you to trap when you catch a big hand and someone decides to play back at you because the whole table is pissed that you have been getting rich stealing with min raises that noone can afford to call. It is unorthodox but you don't win tourneys by playing like everyone else and when you get deep in a tourney, often everyone is reading out of the same book.

As far as how you played the TT, given the context you have described, I think I would have played it exactly the same way.
