ok lately i've been experiencing a 5-buyin downswing at $100NL on Tribeca. its pretty strange because i've been beating the $50NL for 12ptbb/100 over almost 20k hands. but i think i must not be adjusting properly.
the $50NL game is very straightforward. 200bb buyin. games are very loose/passive, players are easy to read, and i have almost never played a big pot without the best hand.
the $100NL is stupid-donk-aggro. everyone leads into the raiser like it's their job, with everything from overpairs to sets to bottom pair to nothing. i've seen tons of players lead full pot into me and call my raise with just overcards. i had a player call my PF raise, call my flop bet (i had AA), and overbet-shove over my turn bet for $80 on a 975T board. i thought and thought and folded and he showed me his T6 offsuit. i had another player call my $20 PF reraise with 98o (i had AA again). he called down and rivered his straight.
i feel like im constantly getting pushed off the best hand.......and yet somehow im also losing a lot of big pots when i decide to call a big bet. i feel like i don't get any information from the betting action because these players are even more stupid than the lower-stakes ones, and there's just no way for me to put them on a hand.
so clearly im not adjusting correctly. any thoughts on what to do?
if it matters..i generally play a pretty solid, TAG-but-creative game. roughly 23/10/2.5. mostly straightforward basic NL poker, but i pick my spots to reraise light preflop with SC's or broadway cards, and i open up my range pretty wide from CO or Button.
thanks
