BIG WORDS
It's good to know about four or five biggish words you can stuff into a conversation so you sound well read. Don't fuck them up the way black people do, but don't overuse them either. We recommend putting your fancy word next to a swear. Here are some examples: "…so she walks in all precocious like we give a shit," or "…and it's the same old pedantic bullshit he's always going on about," or "She's got this big fucking turgid zit right in the centre of her face."

I apologise to all for the delay. I've been incredibly busy - I've only played a single game of poker in the last month - and just haven't had the time to get as much done as I'd like.

I've had some free time the last couple of days and have spent several hours working on the program. Everything as discussed in the OP is done, but I'm going to add more features to turn it into a full scale play evaluation tool. The engine I wrote is very powerful and new filtering options and tools can be added quickly. For example, it's possible to type "AWxx" and select "Suited Ace" and "Negative Expectation" to evaluate only those hands. A simple hand history viewer that cleans up the crap (">You have options at...", etc) and is easier to read has already been included. It updates in real time as you scroll through the hands. I'll eventually develop that into a replayer, but after release. If I get time I'll also add graphing capabilities but that'll probably be after release also. I know you guys are waiting for this but give me a few more days, I promise it'll be worth the wait.

On Sunday I'll do a test release to a few BTPers to check performance and issues on different systems. PM or post if you want to try it out.

Here's a few pictures to prove I'm not just stringing you guys along:

All of these are from approx. 30K hands worth of showdowns from an old database. Typical LAG play:

It's really interesting how the magnitude of results can differ greatly from equity, but the direction is usually the same.

Playing well and running on track with AA hands:

This is where I think the program will be most useful - reviewing particular hands and sessions. Now that the equity engine is coded I'm focussing on the making the program very useful for session review and leak finding. For example, you can filter for particular hands and graph the results. In the picture below it's obvious that my recent results with A4 are not indicative of particularly bad play. There's a slight dropoff in equity which might be worth investigating but mostly I'm just getting fucked in the arse by variance.

And just to prove how much work this is:

Gooper, you were right. Accurately accounting for multiple side pots, dead money, variable rakes, errors in the PTO database, multithreading and speed optimizations made this quite involved.

Anyway, I apologise again for this being late and will have it done soon.

This is really interesting. I notice that the graphs in the first plot are rarely out of sync for more than 300-400 hands. Of course it's a small sample size, but still this might provide new insight into how long it's possible to be running bad...

Nice job.

Poker is silly.

It is not enough to be good at chess, you must also play well.

Somewhere in the world someone is training when you are not. When you race him, he will win.
