6-Max Tribecca.

I am dealt [Ac][As] on the button. UTG has $50. CO has $125. I cover.

1. UTG raises to $3. UTG+1 folds. CO calls. I raise to $12. Folds around to CO, who calls.

2. Flop comes [Qs][9d][4d] (Pot $28): CO checks. I bet $20

3. Turn comes [8d] (Pot $68): Co checks. I bet $40. He min-raises to $80, leaving $13 behind. I fold.

Be glad your opponents refuse to fold; if they didn't, you just might go broke.

TJ hit a straight. Any flush hit a flush. Any set already has me dominated.

Not to mention he min-raised on the turn. I really, really hate folding overpairs, but after reading this forum for a little over a month I was under the impression I'm supposed to be able to get away from this only losing a huge pot rather than my whole stack.

Also, not that it's relevent for this particular hand, but Tribecca + Overpair + Felt = -$250 for me today. I'm 1/6 bringing Kings and Aces to the felt on pretty harmless boards., so I really don't think just because it's Tribecca I should showdown for my entire stack.

*I thought about checking behind, but it seems like I'm just giving tens and jacks and diamonds a ton of draws and if I'm already beat I'm not drawing out. I would have checked behind with the [Ad] obviously.

Is this a good/solid fold or am I just suffering from FPS after getting screwed earlier today?

I think here you'd better check behind on turn and call (possibly fold river).
As played you gotta call his last 50 with this pot odds.

I can almost certainly remember Iceman and Shobute discussing a similar hand when the turn came a horrible flush/straight card. I think they said it's a mandatory bet/fold if you have the overpair without the flush draw, and a mandatory check behind if you have the flush draw.

If I'm already behind I'm not drawing out, so I lose the same amount as if I were to call a river bet by just folding. If I am ahead and they're drawing, I make them pay or fold.

Does this sound right? If either Shobute or Iceman reads this could they clear this up for me if this is the proper play?

I really wanted to check behind k3nt, but I thought I remembered reading a similar post by those two guys who would own me at NL 6-max and decided to bet. What I thought was their conclusion made a lot of sense to me. If I never read that post (or imagined it) I definetly would have checked behind.

This is good logics, but you don't consider stack sizes applying it. If you were more deep and you could comfortably fold to reraise it is a better way to play, but with this stack if you bet anything you are commited, so I prefer check behind on turn.

I check behind on that turn. I'm not too worried about the flush because the pot is raised and the RERAISED. If he's nutty enough to play a SC there, so be it.

It's more likely you are against a set so I check the turn and use that $40 you bet on the turn to call a river bet and get a showdown where you also beat hands like AQ.
