I really think you need to raise the flop harder.

Raising to $14 is giving every draw rediculously good odds to call.

Also if you raise harder the half-stack might push with a variety of hands/draws (as is the tendency of small stacks) and you'd either have him crushed or if he does have JT you're getting relatively decent odds to your boat.

Once you raise the flop hard, I would consider checking behind depending on the turn. Position is especially useful in hands like these. Are you really getting any action from anything you beat on a pot sized bet with a 89TQ board? I highly doubt it. That way you get a free card to your boat and very likely win a large pot if the board pairs.

yea i would say raise that flop a bit more, and check after turn for cheap showdown if possible, and hope to filllllller up

With a board like that, make an extra large stab early and if you get action, keep the pot as small as possible from that point on unless you fill up.

So if your raise flop to $22 or $24, which I think is the correct thing to do, the pot on the turn will be ~$60 and Villain will have ~$75 left. Any meaningful bet is going to commit you, so I think you have to either check behind hoping to fill up and planning to fold to most river bets if you miss, OR just put him all-in. I can't see a good third option and of these 2 I pick the first one.

Based on his flop and turn play, I think Axs is very possible. But obviously you have to make your decision based on the flop play alone, so putting him on the FD and then putting him all in would be a bit of a gamble.

I'd check that turn every time. There's a 4 card straight, and any limper with a J would have called the raise.

Plus by checking behind you disguise your hand somewhat if you fill up, so you might be able a lot of money in then.

I also raise the flop big - you could be put on big/draw, draw/pair combo, or two pair; your opponent likely has one of these hands, and all these hands should 3 bet the flop.

Fair point, though there's quite a few J-type hands that might call.

But he only hits a clean flush >(?) 1/5th of the time and the pot's not so big you have lots of pot equity to protect; there's not much value in betting because the board is so scary etc.

So it's still a definite check for me.
