Looking at the results, it looks good, but I just feel I did not play it that well. I put him on nothing or bottom pair trying to steal, but when hit bet on the turn, I had doubts, but felt like I was committed to the hand. Did I let my aggression get away from me, should I have folded way earlier? Since I had put him on nothing, should I have pushed on the turn? I just feel like I misplayed it and got lucky on the river.

Why did you min-raise out of the BB? That is hideous. You're 100% guaranteed to be called and you're playing a trash hand OOP.

Check in the BB and check/fold to his flop bet.

As played, fold to his flop raise. If you're going to 3-bet him, it's need to be a real raise, not a min raise.

Sorry, but this hand is horrible.

No way should you be minimum raising a bad hand from the big blind once a MP player has called along with the button. Your raise preflop does nothing but make the pot bigger with a bad hand!

I can understand you want to 'defend' your blind every now and then, showdown a trashy blind hand to win a nice pot so that people get the messege that your blind isn't up for grabs, but this is just stupid.

The only time I want to play a hand in the big blind is when I can be HEADS UP against the small blind (IE: with position), then I find myself calling raises with almost anything and also raising with anything because I feel with position you can minimize loses and win a big pot with a surprise hand.

As it happens the button was playing exactly that type of game, he was using his position to try and out-play you..... which is exactly why you should have raised more preflop (IE $3.00) or check-folded and allowed him to steal.

The whole hand stinks after that as well, you should have folded to his minimum re-raise on the flop, he should have folded to your turn bet** and you should have folded again to his minimum raise on the turn!

** Which obviously shows this was definately NOT the player to make this type of play against anyway. away with it

If you wanna try this type of move I suggest playing some low-buyin short handed sit and go tournaments....blow off steam for fun and practice new things in your game cheaply.

MacAnthony and I are responsible for some of this. Thxlbx was playing like 11/2 pre-flop and getting no action. We encouraged him to be more aggressive, without elaborating sufficiently. I think we fixed that a little bit since seeing this hand. At least he will no longer suffer from a lack of action.

(BTW, I was seated at the table for this hand, and no I was not MP2).
