Playing last night, Pokerstars $50 cash game and this happens. Should I fold or call?

Villian has been fairly solid, is a winning player (he joined the table with about $30). He hasn't had to show many winning hands so I'm not quite sure what his raising range is. I note that he hasn't lost many of the hands that he has got involved with post flop, so he's really only betting when he has a hand. He's probably the best player at the table................apart from me of course .

Fish is loose, he was doing well...up about $25 - $30, but is on tilt after loosing two fairly big pots. Regardless of what I do, I feel he's definately calling.

Insta-call, the short buy-in and the call from the fish both increase the chances that he is pushing w/ something other than Aces.

Wow! I'm amazed that nearly everybody advises instantly calling. I think I call in certain situations, I definately call against 2 or 3 of the other players on this table, but not against this player. Maybe I haven't provided the correct info on him, but he was fairly tight, as much of a rock as you can get at this level.

Also surely poker is not just about playing the stats. I agree I am probably ahead here most of the time, but I will also be behind occasionally. I acept that this level is not the WSOP, but surely it must contain the occasional good player. A rare player who has a least a fair grasp of the game? I know a lot of you guys are playing at a different level, but I just don't see what he is going to come over the top of my re-raise with, other than [AA] or possibly [KK].


Anyway I eventually folded and as I expected the fish called. The hand played out as follows;

I'm not promoting folding [KK] pre flop. Generally my rule of thumb pre flop is to call an all in with [AA] or [KK]. This time round I just felt that this player wasn't going to come over the top of my raise without a huge hand and decided to walk away from it. It took me a long time to do it though and thanks to the 4h on the river I saved myself $37.50.

I would have loved to see what the fish had, but he didn't show.
