I'm playing at a few tables with UTG.
He looks like a tightish player and a winner.
Haven't noticed him open limp before.
There's nothing weird going on at this table that would make him do that either.

Thoughts on my line on the river?
I think the rest of the hand is fairly standard.


UTG limps, SB completes, and I rap in the BB with A8.

Flop , pot $30.
SB checks, I bet $25, UTG calls, and SB folds.

Turn , pot $85.
I lead for $65 and UTG calls again.

River , pot $215.
I check, UTG bets $250, I ...?

You induced a bluff...or he was slowplaying the whole way...either way I think it's an easy call.

i think this is rarely a set. i think [Td] is very possible, as is a bluff. also some sort of [7h], [8h], or some other x[h] hand that lucked into a flush.

i also think (less likely but possible) [8d], AQ.

if he bet instantly i would call. if he thought for a bit first i would probably fold, especially if i havent seen him bluff before.
