Decided to take yesterday off as I was pretty worn out after that long session. Went to Ballys this afternoon and onlly one game going and it didn't look very good so I went to the Venetian. The game there was ok but nothing special. Well I continue to be a big fan of limping with rockets in EP or when first in in late position. Another day another winning session. The game broke so I decided to just come back instead of going to another place.

I have been contemplating a job change for a few days. I still have not made up my mind on what I will do. I have basically been offered a teaching position in Nogales, Arizona and I am very tempted to take it for a number of reasons. If I get it and decide to take the position it would start around 16th October. I will probably travel down to the area in the middle of next week if things look positive.

Maybe I just need a vacation.

Well what a day. I went to the school today to get coordinated with various things. Everything was ok and the principal and other folks were very nice. At the end of the day the teacher that was going to leave decided to stay. He was leaving because the superintendant of the district had decreased his pay to 20K a year because after three years he hadn't finished his education certificate but apparently something was worked out at the last minute. Well I was offered instead the 8th grade class which was fine with me as it was being taught by a lady with a degree in economics just doing a favor I guess for her friend the principal because they couldn't get any science teachers there. I ask her about my situation as I don't have an "education" degree either only a lowly Ph.d in Biology. She thought that the district stance was only for people that hadn't gotten a certificate in three years but checks and finds out that since I am not "highly" qualified because I haven't taken those 3-4 education classes that the superintendant would only pay me 20K as well. I laughed at that and the principal was also shocked at that decision. She was pretty pissed and called a friend of hers at the district up the road and arranged an interview for me next week. Well all that being said I got am email from my old prof at the New York Botanical Garden telling me of an immediate Post-doc position at Duke on a project right up my alley. I just fired off an email about the position and will be anxiously awaiting to hear back something but I think I have a pretty good shot at getting that position. There are very few places where I would consider doing a post-doc but Duke is pretty high up on that list. We will see.

Supposed to talk with the professor at Duke tomorrow so will probably have a very good idea whether or not I will be heading east. Played some NL on Stars tonight and made one pretty bad donk off with AQs. Managed to get my head on straight and mounted a comeback after being down about 2 stacks to break even for the evening.
