Talked to the professor a few minutes ago and he offered me the position. I am really excited about getting back into the academic arena. Heading out of Nogales later today most likely back toward Arkansas. Made my way into Durham last Wednesday. Should be moving into an apartment tomorrow. It has been a very enjoyable few days here in Durham. The folks in the department that I have met seem to be very pleasant. Went on a mushroom collecting trip yesterday near Ashboro and will be on the road again for a field excursion into the sand hills on Tuesday. Hard to beat walking about the woods in fall collecting plants and enjoying the company of other like minded souls. I am feeling very at peace with the decision I made in coming here and I am looking forward to the work I am about to embark upon.
