I've been playing Omaha for approx 1500 hands, so very new and wet behind the ears. I've been beating the game comfortably but everything I'm doing at the moment is an experiment....trying to find my raising range, whats a good hand on what type of board etc etc..... Anyways, I ran into this little gem and need some advice on it, points to consider: raising PF??, playing 2 pair on uncoordinated board, and what are you putting villain on.

You need to fold on the flop. What can he possibly be betting? There's no draw on that flop. Unless he's a moron (possible at 25PLO!) on that board he must have A8 minimum to be betting into a reasonably big field.

You're also out of position with regard to the guy betting - even if he can't beat A2 he should be able to push you off your vulnerable holding with just about any hand on the turn (unless you catch a boat), and even if he holds just a bare ace he probably has at least 40% equity against you. This is one you need to let go on the flop every time. The second best two pair isn't a hand to get married to on an uncoodinated board, out of position, to a guy showing aggression into a big field.

The way you played it, yeah I think you had to get in on the turn.

Well I'd raise that hand in late position but you should never raise out of the blinds really. There might be one or two exceptional situations when it's correct but in general in an unraised pot you want to be putting in preflop raises only in the middle and later positions.

I'd also caution that as others have said at these levels you should PLAY straightforward, not making too many unusual plays or playing too many non-nut made or drawing hands, but you should still be THINKING about your game always, where you can improvements, where you might be able to make more sophisticated plays against better opponents, getting reads, and learning about the mechanics of the game. Don't stop learning just because you're nut peddling.
