Lunch : 8 cans of beer

Talk about a healthy mother-fuck-ing lifestyle.

why don't you play NL Holdem instead of PLO?

Eh, I kinda figure fuck NL Holdem. Not because it's not potentially profitable, but...

Okay, first off, I blow horrendously at it. Second off...nah, that pretty much covers it.

Hah HAH! Just finished my tax return, well ahead of schedule. Usually I wait a few days til after it's due. Ya know, let the IRS sweat a little...and hit me with a nice, fat penalty.

But this year, I did 'em ON TIME! BADDA-BING! This is also the last year I'll ever be getting a refund, sadly enough.

In other news, NASA has once again shamed the United States with another terrific debacle. Apparently, they were sending a probe out to explore Pluto...but due to a miscalculation, they rammed it into Uranus instead.

HAH HAH! Sorry.

Well, I made my triumphant return to limit today...played a bit more than 2 hours before switching over to 100-PLO for a 3 hour session. Here's how it "went down":

Hours played...5:23
End result...+$258.75 ($146 HE , $112.75 PLO)

Another solidish day...my play was a bit bored and uninspired for the first part of my limit session, but then I got back into it to have a goodly session. As far as PLO, I continue to play an absurd amount of hands, but didn't really get too involved in too many today. Bright side is, I generally managed to win those that I did. I also got wanked over in a $240 pot, ugh...but pretty much made up for it by wanking over someone else in a $180ish one.

One major leak I've noticed: I'm in a heads-up situation with something like top-two/flush-draw, or a set, then the turn brings a scare card. A couple times today, I've found myself stupidly betting out in these situations, both times allowing my opponent to put in a huge raise and forcing me to fold...when I could be check-calling (provided I have enough outs and my opponent's stack is deep). I suppose I'll get the hang of it eventually.

"Any-who", I may or may not throw in a bit of 3-6 O8 tonight...I think the fact that I'm trying to broaden the ol' horizons will make it easier to book a good number of hours per week, and more importantly, it'll keep poker fun for me. I still enjoy limit hold 'em, but it does occasionally start to feel like a grind.

Checking over my figures for the month so far, it's looking like a $5K month just might happen! Wowza, that'd be sweet...

Well, I have a few things to say about limit O8. First, here's my results:

Hours played...1:45
End result...-$187.75

Fuck Omaha 8's-or-better. Fuck it! Fuck it hard, and fuck it relentlessly. Fuck it up its stupid ass until it lies limp and lifeless in a pool of blood and...okay, let's not get too graphic.

I know, I know. You think I'm just pissed because I'm not willing to accept the sad truth; that my losing session is due to my complete lack of skill and knowledge at the game. Well...yeah, you're god-damned right!

In all honesty, though, these cards were just SHIT tonight. Can't tell ya how fuckin cool it is to go into a massive multiway raised pot with somethin' like A-A-2-5, one ace suited, and the flop brings a lovely fuck-ing K-Q-J, all spades. Oh, and by the way, SPADES WASN'T MY GOD-DAMNED SUIT! One hand, heads-up, flopped top set with one low card out...and of course, the wankinator hangs in with a backdoor low-draw, which misses...BUT ALSO A BACKDOOR 3-HIGH MOTHER-FUCKING FLUSH DRAW, WHICH FUCKING HITS! FUCK FUCK FUCK!!!!

And THEN, I go in with the beauty of a starting hand, A-4-9-J...ummmmmm...right, so perhaps my play wasn't top-notch, either...the...ummmm...the 9 was suited?

Right, you get the point. Bad cards + horrific play = -$187.75.

The bright side is, I SURE AS HELL AIN'T GONNA BE PLAYING ANY MORE OF THIS GOD-DAMN PLUCKING BULLSHIFT...at least, not until I maybe...I don't know, READ A @*&#*@&#@&*(&#*(@KING BOOK OR SOMETHING!

Pluck.

Well, my BtP tourney started off a bit ugly, as I drained away chip after chip with no real plan whatsoever...but then I busted out Ice, which was incredibly fun and satisfying! And then MG, being the ungracious cock-muncher that he is, busted me out with his GOD-DAMNED 10-4. By my calculations, I was a 136% favorite after the flop...though in hindsight, I may have wanked up some long-division somewhere in there. Anyhow, all things considered, it wasn't a completely horrendous call by him on the flop. For one thing, I went for a check-raise with my top-pair, king-kicker...which I suppose sorta committed him with his second-pair, vomitous-piece-of-horseshit-kicker...and for that matter, I was rather short-stacked, so I could've been pushing something that he had beat...

Hold up, WHY THE FUCK AM I DEFENDING THIS BASTARD!? THAT EVIL-MINDED, BLACK-SOULED WHORE JUST BROUGHT ALL MY HOPES AND DREAMS CRASHING DOWN! I HOPE HIS GENITALS DEVELOP AN EXTREMELY IRRITATING RASH!!!

Ahem.

Wow. Shittiest day I've had in quite a while.

Hours played...5:23
End result...-$388.45 ($53 HE , -$441.45 PLO)

Ummmm, ya think I maybe shouldn't be playing this PLO shit? I'll be the first to admit that there's a ton I don't know about the game, but still, some really fucked up shit happened today. Two big pots where I got all-in on the turn with top-set against a flush draw, lost 'em both...and one nice big ~$330ish sorta jobber where I got all-in on the turn with a flush against a set...naturally, the cock-sucking board paired.

Gotta tell ya, it really sucks to be about 200 up for the week right now, considering that at some point, I was about 800 up. I suppose I shouild be happy that I'm up at all, but then again, no I fucking shouldn't.

Guess I'll head back to the ol' 5-10ers tomorrow, maybe throw in a PLO, but if I do, I'd probably be well-advised to scale it down to the $50 tables.

God, poker sucks sometimes.

Well, that was pretty much nohing but a "BLAH" sorta day, and i'M also a bitttt inebriated at the moment, so you'll have to pardon me!!!!!!!!! I played 4.something hours of limit, and just under an hour of 50PLO...limit session, I was up like almost 400 books at some points, but then the suckouts starting raining from the heavens and I was lucky to be up at all when all was said and...done. PLO, only got involved in one decent-sized pot...which of course, I lost. Fuck-ers.

Hours played...5:31
End result...+$38.25 ($68.75 HE , -$30.5 PLO)

I then played the good ol' BTP HORSE tourny, thoroughly drunk, and I'm pretty certain I managed to make a completely vulgar, obnoxious ass out of myself...I came in third after some unremarkable but occasionally lucky play kept me afloat...and then made an idiotic call, leaving me crippled and all-in for the next 4 or 5 hands after which I finally bit the ol' whatsit. The bright side is that I won both last-longer bets I participated in, and also didn't have to pay out the $50 bounty since the fuck-head that knocked me out was some non-BtP dude.

Oh well, point is, I'm not really having a very good week at all...hopefully, I'll get it back on track tomorrow, but more than likely, I'll just be back here bitching after five or six hours of hard work nets me another -$200 bucks or so. Ugh.

I also wanna give some props to my arch-rival, the iceman, for giving BtP a good showing despite my constant heckling and harassment. By all rights, he should've won the thing, but ah well, shit happens. Anyway, he played a surprisingly good game for someone that's pretty much focused entirely on NLHE for his poker career.

I'm pretty sure I called him all sorts of mean names during the tourney, for which I sincerely apologize. Well, sorta sincerely, anyway.
