Back in Black.
Well, it seems all my hard work has paid off for the month. After an abysmal start (can you say -12k?!) do to constant cold decks and a few leaks; I am back in the black!
Actually, I was in the clear last week but hit another big bump in the road. I literally clapped for myself after today's session. I've put in a lot of work through this awful run of cards and I'm proud to still be standing.
I've learned a lesson through all of this: I need a bigger bankroll.
Two hands for your viewing pleasure
5/10 6 handed
Dealt
[3s] on the button. Folded to me, I make it $35 to go. The BB calls. He's a good, loose-aggressive player.
FLOP $75
[3h][3d]
He checks. I bet $60 with quads. He check min raises to $120 which I call.
TURN $315
[3h][3d]
Oh no. Not the straight flush when I have quads! He bets $200 or so. I opt to call (A mistake in retrospect but I thought he was bluffing off chips.)
RIVER $715
][3h][3d]
]
He pushes. I call and say "god please don't have the striaght flush" (you do this when you're on a bad run, or recovering from one. )
He showed
[8h] for the flush. He got halfway to the 990-1 shot!
Next hand:
Have
[As] in the SB. The same good lag from the previous hand makes it $40. Button calls. I make it $130 more to them. Both call. (ugh.)
FLOP$510
[9h][Td]
I check looking for a check-raise allin. I considered leading but frankly I'm afraid of the laggy player calling the flop bet and outplaying me on turn. At the time I felt a check induces a bet while protecting my hand to the maximum. I'm still not sure it was the completly correct play...anyway...
I check. Lag bets $330. Button folds.
I make it another $1k to him with my check-raise allin. He folds quickly, to my relief.
Just thought those were both interesting hands.
Good luck everybody! And write your damn congressmen.
