Isn't the moral of this that (as always) it depends on your opponent? If you've got a set against a decent player, a 3 x raise may be more +EV than a MR because he may correctly read the latter as monster; against others, a MR may be more +EV.

Golden, you're definitely correct.

I guess by "good players" I just meant ... less dreadful players than the average megadonks.

When I am against actual good players, I just leave the table.
