Well, after hemming and hawing for a while, I have decided to take the plunge and join in here at BTP. Some of you might know me from UPF, others from a brief stay I had in a Tijuana jail cell back when I was 19 (If Big Jake is here, I'm sorry, but I'm not that flexible any more, and thanks for the cigarettes).
I have lurked for a little while, and didn't really think I had too much to say that was worth while. Ask my wife, she can back me up on that one. On the outside chance I can find some value to add I will try and post things that are reasonable, intelligent, and concise. Or I'll just call some one a dimwit and be done with it.
I play online mostly, fluctuating between UB and Pokerstars. I used to play Planet a lot, but have gotten too frustrated with the software. I did get some nice poker chips with Roy Cooke's picture on them, so it wasn't all that bad I guess.
Currently I am playing a lot of NLHE, but the majority of the time I am playing O8, either limit or PL. A good portion of my bankroll was won on the 2/4 limit O8 tables on UB, but then a good portion of that was lost on there as well. There is no pain greater than the 'nut flush, nut low draw' on the flop evaporating into a cloud of fake ceramic dust when the low misses and the flush that hit on the turn meets up with a paired board on the river.
I am 38, live in upstate NY, and play frisbee golf in my spare time. I have a wife and 2 kids that she says are mine. I am a Pop Warner coach to one of the kids, and a shotgun-toting-stay-the-hell-away-from-her-you-dirtbags lunatic around the other one.
My favorite movie is Buttwoman and my favorite song is Promises in the Dark. My favorite poker book is the one by Ray Zee on hi/lo split, and my favorite celebrity poker player is Laura Prepon when she had red hair.
