$5/$10 NL at Full Tilt. Villian is a reg but doesnt know me.

He raises to $30 on the button with [2d]. I call in the SB. BB folds.

Pot $70. Flop [9s][8h]. I check and he checks behind.
Pot $70. Turn . I check and he checks again.
Pot $70. River . I check and he bets $30. Whats the point of betting that river?

Some people dont CB every flop after raising and I can see why he didnt bet this one. I might bet the turn if I was him, but on the other hand he probably gets called by alot of hands after checking the flop. But what exactly is the point of betting the river? If I had a T, I wouldve bet it already. If I had an ace I may have bet it and besides, if I have an ace, Im gonna call and beat him. Does anyone bet this river?


PS...I check raised his ass on the river , which is one more reason not to bet here.

Without sounding like a dick:

A reason to bet this river with A2 is so you can get your opponent to put in $120 with a pair of 3s.

I have tried this check raise move also and they always seem to call me with TP. I believe the play works better against a LAG than a TAG regular.
