I have a few hands here that I want opinions on. My 'BR' is only $400 at the moment, after having to withdraw a load of it for various reasons.

So I have been trying to re-build it the same way I did to start off... NL10c cash games and $6 tournaments.... problem is I am hardly winning anything and I don't know if it is because I am playing like a donk, being outplayed or just getting bad luck.

I think just seeing these hands on the forum might just help me realise where I am going wrong.

I am also finding party poker very tight at NL FR, not sure I really have an edge, where should I move to guys? bearing in mind my tiny BR... deposit bonus would be handy.

#1 - AQs
You are the preflop raiser and you have a pair + the nut flush draw. Just lead out and push if he raises. If you're going to C/R make it all-in since you want to see both cards and if you miss on the turn you'll be behind.

#2 - JJ
The guy check/raised all-in after a bet and a call, he has it. Just get rid of your hand.

#3 - AK
You're raising 11bb UTG. That is too much with a drawing hand. I would make a bet on the flop of say half to 2/3 pot then try to check it down. Don't try to bluff-raise, it's a huge loser move at these limits. Bluff-betting is OK, but trying to raise someone who bet off his hand will not work often enough. This also happens to be a bad bluff because you're really no representing anything that makes sense, so a bad player will call because he bet, and a good player will call because he smells a bluff.

This is how you lose money with AK.

#4 - ATo
I wouldn't bother bluffing at a dry pot but whatever. When he calls on the flop you need to get in check/fold mode ASAP. Also, if people are calling stations raising ATo is not a great idea.

#5 - A8o
Very bad call preflop. Just because you paid 1bb doesn't mean you have to pay 9 more with a stupid fish hand. Just fold it preflop, you won't make money playing Axo, save those hands for the fishies.

#6 - AA
That's just a bad beat story, leave those for the low content forum.

All in all you may want to tighten up your preflop raising standards a bit and try to bluff less. Yes, yes... aggression is the key to winning poker but most players at this level are calling stations and bluffing calling stations is the key to losing money and becoming frustrated. Bet and raise when you have a real hand and don't bluff as a "standard" move, only when you really think you have a good opportunity.
