I have 426, villain 207

I ck in BB with K[d] J[d]. Villain called in CO.

Flop ($12) J[h] 8[h] 2[s]. I lead $9. Villain calls, SB ck/calls.

Okay SB is on the FD or OESD.

Turn ($39) 3[s]. SB checks, I decide to be aggersive and bet here $37, villain calls,

SB thinks and says, "folding 9[h] 5[h]" He shouldn't have said that but he did.

River ($113) K[h]. I ck, Villain pushes $158.

Thoughts?

i think that SB's comments make villain less likely to bluff. because its less likely that villain can have a flush so you "should" call more often.

so im ok with a fold.

just so you know- if you lead turn for, say, $28....a FD still wont have immediate odds. and more importantly you give yourself a little more room to block river and fold to a shove.

If villain holds a set why would he not raise turn with the 3rd player in the pot?
He is that tricky or that passive? I guess at 2.5 AF he's not totally passive. More like kind of spongish, maybe even just bad. Plus he is playing incredibly short stacked.

I guess I like a call here but I'm not crazy about it. But maybe I under-respect short stacks. If villain is 'accidentally' short stacked (just lost a big pot and reloaded) then disregard.

I'm thinking he might have something like [Js]

I called and villain had A[h] 6[h] for the flush despite the other guy folding 2 of his outs.

The question is if you bet the turn, you are committed on the river as most say call.


I've been trying to increase my turn aggression but I run into this routinely and the problem is I get stacked every time I'm unfortunate.

What say you turn betters, just variance and reload?
