Well as some rookie upstart once so aptly put it I spilt the blood of all who dared to oppose me today. Played the 50 NL to start killing the last of the Empire bonuses instead of the 12 limit game. Getting slightly more raked pots per 100 hands 75 vs. 72 but the action is a little slower overall. Just played pretty basic ABC poker at the NL and the 12 limit at Interpoker were I cracked heads for 41.75 BB in 94 hands. Picked up another 171.66 at the 50 NL.

Well I posted some of the brutal hands that beat the hell out of me a couple of days ago so only fair that I add a couple in my favor. The first one should be title "Why you should not check the nuts on the flop or perhaps why it's not a good reason usually to limp with AA"

My damn computer has been screwing up all day for whatever reason I don't know. Perhaps it was overburdened by the 5 games on Interpoker because it crashed on me twice there leaving my money in the pot both times at some tables, once while three betting my arch enemy Beldar there preflop. That mf has sucked out on me more times than is right.

Well played a little more GameGrid and made some FPP's but I still haven't heard word back on my acceptance into their Very Frequent Player program yet. I spun off another email so we will see. All in all up a little over 40.00 today from minimal disrupted playing.

Downed some sushi and shashimi just a little while ago coated with about 6 beers and a glass or two of not so fine Venezuelan whiskey so I am ready to whip some ass in the upcoming BTP tournament.

Watched a movie called Three Way Split last night with Gina Gershon, well actually not enough Gina for my taste but there was another real hot nubian babe that looked a whole lot like my Louisiana woman. Made me want to get an airline ticket back to the states for a little while. The movie pretty much sucked though and could probably only have been saved by a naked shower scene with the black babe (Ali Larter) and Gina.

Well managed to climb over the 100+ mark again today courtesy of the 100.00 Interpoker bonus  Shouldn't complain too much I guess about the number of raked hands required (800) as I mainly just played it on a 5th table while my other games were going. Manged to clear an additional 77.00 while knocking it out so not too shabby.

Still got UKBetting, WillHIll, PokerPlex and Ritz Club to go before the end of the month. That's another 170 or so of bonus money and I need to knock out the last 250 or so hands at Stars to clear that 150.00 bonus.

Got the bankroll back near 7K now after some pretty bad losing days in March and not working during the first half of this month so things are getting back in order.

Haven't worked on my moss manual manuscript in about three weeks now. Need to put in a little time on that this week as well as finish up packaging my collections from this last trip.

Well my last beer is nearly dry so it's off to the store for a movie or two and a couple of beers to get me through the remainder of the evening.

If this isnt too personal...what does it cost to live down there?

Groceries?
How much is rent or a house cost when compared to an avg 2000 sqft house in Louisiana?
Car costs?
Insurance?

Is it super cheap down there?

Not at all.

With the government currently controlling somewhat the exchange of dollar for bolivares I am able to take advantage of a transferring money to someone that needs dollars. For every 100.00 I transfer I get back around 125.00 so that helps right off the top.

The apartment I am currently living in is not large but has sufficient space for my office as well as a nice kitchen, living room and walk out balcony. I pay a little less than 250.00 a month for it.

Gasoline is less than 0.25 a gallon  Venezuela has alot of oil and the cost of gas hasn't went up one cent in the whole time that I have been here. I filled my tank up for less than 1.50.

Insurance   None existant as far as I know, I never had it in the states either although it was required. There may be speed limits posted but I can assure you that no speed limits exist here which I very much like although I never drive fast much anymore and my current vehicle wouldn't exactly propel me along at a very high speed anyway.

Beer: 0.30/bottle
Food all in all pretty inexpensive.

As you already know I bought close to 50 acres of very nice land for under 3000.00 and the cost to build my house there will be under 5000.00.

The only other costs I really have are the doctor bills for the vaccinations for my little girl which probably amount to less than 100.00 every two months and child support for my two kids in NY.

The biggest expense outside of rent I have is the phone which runs about 100.00 a month. Electric is about 20.00 max.

So how much does it cost to live in Venezuela, NOT MUCH. Without having outside expenses like child support a person could live comfortably here in the city for about 800.00/month without being extravagant. If you chose to live in another city besides Caracas probably 500.00.

Well just another lazy day at the tables. Put in all of 2 hours and 10 minutes with most of that in the early morning hours after midnight. But I did get some other work done today as well as finally buying another printer, scanner machine that I have been needing.

The pills didn't seem to help my backpain any so I resorted to hard liquor and that seemed to get the job done as the pain is nearly gone now.

Well went back to play some 510 limit at Empire with TW at the tables and managed to just get phucking shelacked by three outer after three outer. I don't know who took the foot up the ass more tonight but TW and I were running a close race. Nothing quite like people CR and raising you when trailing badly and then river your ass over and over and over again. So much for that 8 BB/100 hands at 510.

Lost over 800 in about 800 hands, that is just brutal at 510 but there you go it can happen.

So what was a small winning day just hit the shitter in a big way.

Another Grueling Day

Postby piersmajestyk » Fri Apr 22, 2005 9:28 pm

Well put in a little over 1000 hands of 50 NL today to clear a party bonus and managed to lose about 70 while doing it so come out +20 for my 100 bonus. Was knocking out the PokerPlex 50 bonus as well and managed to lose 15.00 while clearing it so I spent the better part of 6 hours just about even with the help of 150 in bonuses. That sucks.

Was down almost 200 right out of the gate in NL and managed over the next 900 hands to crawl back to respectability but really tough work with alot of small pots, nothing easy.

So all in all with my early morning session made a little over 80 bucks which I guess is better than the final tally on some of my recent days so I will take it.

Usually I can tell right out the gate what kind of session I am giong to have by the first few hands I play. Well here are a couple, one from limit and one from NL to let you in on what kind of session was in store for me. I guess the second one could have been worse with a river 5 as I ended up just losing 4.00 after flopping the nuts against two fools.

A decent day thus far. Victories in 12 limit, 510 limit and 200 NL for a little over 270 in 3.5 hours despite losing a 200.00 pot right at the outset in 510 limit.

Played some at TW's tables and he managed to win a little over 220 while I was there so hope his day is up overall.

Probably spend some time on my moss manuscript to try and finish up a couple of family descriptions for a little while and then perhaps play a little more later in the day.
