im about to make the move up in stakes to the $1/2 games. for everyone else who has made similar moves...i'd appreciate your observations regarding the differences between the 2 games.

do they play pretty similarly? how much more aggressive are the good players? any other things i should think about?

All games are beatable

Having said that......

$200NL at FTP is avg I would say. Fairly agg preflop. Lots of position raisers that you need to be able to combat when your in the blinds

$200NL at UB is fairly tough by comparison. Its very aggressive preflop. Almost every hand is raised. Reraising preflop is a must when you have a normal raising hand.

$200NL at Tribeca is a major fish tank. Ive been around 4-5 PTBBs for the past 2 months or so at FTP and UB. Im at $10 PTBBs after returning to Tribeca for my last 7000 hands. Its much less aggressive preflop. Lots of short stacks that are completely clueless. Most people dont like the short stacks but I love them because its very easy to get $40 at a time from them. And if you play fairly tight, which alot of us do, its almost impossible to misplay a hand agaisnt a shorty.

I agree with all that has been said. I would also add that there is a lot more preflop action. You'll see more guys who raise 20%, etc. so you have to reraise them which leads to preflop plays.

I have no doubt you could beat those games.

At full tilt I don't notice a lot of difference in the play between NL100 and NL200. I do notice a ton of difference from table to table within each limit. So choose your tables well.
