I call. He has 88 - JJ here a pretty big % of the time. Perhaps also 78. Also I raise to $42 preflop (but that's me being picky).

My standard opening raise is 4BB. If there's a limper, I add 1BB per limper. If someone opens before me, I have pretty predetermined raising amounts. If someone makes it $8, I will re-raise to $24 most of the time. If someone makes it $7, I will make it $23. I think this is a good size to both get action and deny them great odds and the size has been working well for me.

If there's a raise + call in between, I will raise my usual amount and just add the amount of the call on top. So if it was made $7 and one player called the $7, i would make it $23 + $7: $30. In this case, it was made $7, and two players called, so my raise would be to $37, but since we're OOP I usually try and add 10% of my raise to compensate for that so another $4 or so is good here, so around $41.

The more money you can get in preflop when you're almost certain you have the best hand (no reason to put any of them on AA/KK yet, you don't have enough info), the better. It increases the likelyhood that you will win a big pot and makes the hand easier to play postflop.
